It was 100%. Refs swallowed their whistles.

We lost, 59-56. Valiant effort without Wiggins. I think we're better than that team, should we see them again.

Tayler Persons has the ugliest haircut I have ever seen.

Sucks to lose after we held the lead for so long, but we could just never pull away. Turner struggled and missed a huge wide open corner 3, just wasn't his night. If you told me Wiggins would be out injured and Turner would struggle shooting I'd say we'll lose by 10. Still the team played hard and a chance to win. That Frye 3 was halfway down before spinning out.

That was the difference between having a true go-to guy and not having one. We got good looks down the stretch for our two best shooters and they both missed. They got their go-to guy to his spot and it was a no doubter.

We really struggled from beyond the arc in the second half. Don't have the numbers but it seemed pretty bad. Losing Koch hurt too...I would've played gadson more to at least put their big guy on the line more often, but oh well. This loss wasn't our typical long stretch of blah. We showed a lot of guts with our best player on the bench and our best scorer having an off night. It happens, now get back to winning on Saturday.

And this loss stings even more now. Kent State and Miami were upset tonight. A BG win and they would have moved to the #3 seed. Now BG drops to #7.

In order to be an illegal screen you also need a defender fighting through the screen. I wouldn't have called it either because no one tried to fight through it.

I'd disagree with you on that. Looks like Frye was trying to get around, but was blocked off. Either way, a game of inches. Frye's 3 was half down, back out. BSU's in.

Frye was going around the screen. He should have just plowed right into it. Then again who knows what or if the refs would call.

Koch is so bad at D. Just get your but down.
They hedge hard. Why arent we rolling?
Nelly cummings looks out of shape
They have Great D
How many times do we attack the basket out of control.
Love that we were leading without Wiggins. If you can get good quality minutes for other guys thats how you develop a team.
How is that the best shot you get at the end. Way to draw that one up. Go one on one and then fire it up. Huh?
Have to play Gadsen more. That guy was melting down mentally. Just hack him until he goes nuts.
We are better than that team. I am not sure we have good coaching.

I said many of these same things. Koch played admirably. His work on the glass helped mightily in keeping us in the game/with the lead for the most part. But he is also really bad defensively. Although that one time where the BSU post spun and elbowed him I'm not sure how they call that a foul on Koch. Still, he really needs to work on that end of the court for next season. I'd like to see him lose a lot of weight for quickness, then start putting on the right kind of weight for strength. That is going to take several years to accomplish, but I hope he can. His skills look good, but he's such a liability on that end of the court right now...

The final shots of both teams seem to be indicative of where the game is nowadays. I don't know if it's the players or the coaches, but nobody seems to draw up a play to get the best look. It's just give it to your best 3 point shooter and have him chuck a 3 from 5 feet behind the arc. Our guy missed, their guy made, we lose. But us especially, we had a full shot clock and called a TO. What do we do...we bleed a bunch of time of the clock and have a guy who had a good game, but has been struggling of late take a stepback 3. And most of his good game had been attacking the basket and moving without the ball. I just don't get it. I understand this in the NBA if you have a Steph or LeBron, letting those guys do their thing is usually your best option, I don't think that's the case with Dylan Frye and I mean zero disrespect to Dylan Frye.

The Gadson thing is infuriating. I said not only did we need to play Gadson more tonight, we needed to be playing him more during the OOC schedule so he was READY to play more now. I kind of get it if they wanted to redshirt him, but he's come in for scrap minutes here and there, he's not eligible for a RS. So play him. He is by far the best defensive post player we had available last night, and I'm not convinced that he's a stepback from Wiggins defensively. He's definitely a better help defender to alter shots than anybody else on the roster. At the VERY least he gives you an extra 5 fouls to give so that you can still have Koch in the game for the final 4:00 when we needed some buckets.

I, too, am not sure we have good coaching. In fact I'm leaning towards we don't.

They have to be Redshirting Gadsen right? Is there a deadline for when they have to make that happen?

In the final offensive possession, Frye's 3 was halfway down and popped back out. On that last possession, it was absolutely an illegal screen, Frye was fighting through, big dude repositioned multiple times on a single screen. What bothered me was Uju on the screen, if Frye is fighting through, why isn't Uju hedging at all? He's sitting 5 feet off his man just standing there, jump out and help a little bit, the longest dude on the team would be helpful contesting the game-winning 3.

Gadsen played again last night. I'm not 100% positive with the RS rules, but I really don't think he'll be eligible. He hasn't played enough to really be developing, but I think he's played enough to be ineligible to RS.

Redshirt is different per sports but this is what I pulled up from NCAA on a standard non medical redshirt

Redshirt Rules. For an athlete to receive a standard redshirt, the NCAA requires that player not be involved in any competition for the year he is redshirted. Any amount of competition time, even 1 minute on abasketball court during a regular season game, for example, counts as a season of eligibility.

I looked them up before. If I remember correctly if you stay healthy once you play 1 minute that peels your redshirt. So this year is gone. He has played a total of 64 minutes so far.

I really don't mind burning a redshirt if you have to on a big because they can add stuff without being super great, but you have to play them if you burn them.
