13.5 to play, BG leads by 5. Fulcher to the line... and misses both.

Toledo comes down to the other and gets some good looks, but neither fall and they send Plowden to the line with 0.8 seconds left. Heck of a game.

FALCONS WIN, 88-81!

What a win. I sure didn't expect that. And of course, now I'm going to get my hopes again for a run down the stretch here.

Always sweeter when you can win against THAT team.

On to the next - Beat Ball State!

This team can be dangerous with the right rotations.

Team must not agree w/ your negative evaluation of Metheny... got the paddle award after game ... 14 pts, 5 rebounds etc.

Metheny is a complicated player right now. There are different levels to evaluating him.

He's clearly talented and looks like he could develop into something pretty solid with some more experience, but he's really raw right now, and he often plays out of control. When he's locked in and not doing EVERYTHING at 100 mph, he's a talented guy. I really love his hustle, he's just nowhere near a polished player. And like, it's not his fault - he's only a freshman, plus it's a weird pandemic season. You'd like to have seen him develop for a year (behind Zeigler, who is no longer on the team) before he gets tossed into a situation like this year where has to start immediately, but he's learning on the fly right now.

I have a feeling we're watching the growing pains in real time, and we're going to love the guy when he becomes closer to a finished product. Today, despite a few mistakes, he played pretty darn well, and he contributed to an awesome win on the road. I hope he can string together some more performances like that one down the stretch.

Today was a good win. Team showed some perseverance. Now somebody make sure Moosbrugger doesn’t hand out a 2 year extension tomorrow.

Love, love, love beating that team -- but it hasn't changed my mind about anything. So happy for the players; they have to be feeling good after getting some revenge for that earlier loss.

Like i said its a weird season in College Basketball, I could have seen them losing by 20 or winning by ten. Covid 19 makes things totally different basically only playing in conference teams that know you really well, first time in one division, health checks, meetings are all different, benches are different, road and home it does really matter, and games getting postpone or cancelled...

It wouldnt even shock me if there is an outbreak before the MAC Tourney that they cancel it and just give it to the regular season winner. Point is nothing under these circumstances should be shocking including BG missing the conference tourney or making it and winning it all.The odds are anyones guess during a season like this.

BG and UT have both be hitting a wall; they each have played 20 or 21 games while Akron Kent Ohio 16 or 17 ; EMU 12 games and NIU 13.... This could also be reason for sucess and failure... Some teams cant even get in a flow while other have some season fatigue.

I think looking to evaluate a coach or any player for that matter in a season like this is very short sighted.

I agree completely with this thought. To appease the mob I would go one step further and say “no terminations, no extensions.”

What if the team does the same things in pandemic seasons and non pandemic seasons?

This. It's not like we don't already have a history of this with Huger. Covid year -- no Covid year. It has not made a difference, and I don't think it's unfair to evaluate him this season as in any other. If he were new and it was his first year -- sure. That's not the case here.

Not apropos to this but interesting...Jim Christian (former KSU and OU coach) was fired by BC today. He did lousy at schools not in the MAC, but he was very, very good at Kent and was good enough for two years at OU to snag the Boston College gig. He is the type of coach BG should be going after, if they were going to replace Huger.

So you want to go with a guy that just failed and had Elite talent ( some talent the MAC in general has not seen in decades) ... rather then a coach that had you in the MAC Championship last year, have recruited well, and is always over .500..... I love BGSU but this is BG and Huger is the best coach in a long time.

Actually Huger has finished below .500 in the MAC 3 of 5 times. Overall has finished above .500 in 2 of 5 seasons. He has scheduled some of the weakest OOC schedules in school history. Bowling Green was in the MAC Championship game two years ago. A Toledo upset to Northern Illinois helped that path. They would have been underdogs in every tournament game last season despite the seed. If Michael Huger is the best coach Bowling Green has had in decades, then that explains why it hasn't seen the tournament since 1968. Way too many years for way too many mediocre to horrible (Orr) coaches.

If we separate the Dan Dakich tenure into 2 separate coaches Dakich v1.0 was a far better coach at BG than Huger. He recruited elite level MAC talent, and did it across the board so that the rosters actually made sense. They were consistently among the best teams in the league, and were able to play and beat GOOD OOC opponents.

I'm not interested in Christian, but we can do far better than Huger if we actually wanted to look. Of course we're not canning him when he's still got 3 years left on that asinine contract. So we're stuck for at least another 2 years. I cannot even fathom how awful next year is likely to be. Still gonna have garbage coaching but losing all of our top talent.
