Should Moose give Huger a 2 or 3 year contract extension? 50 or 60k raise coming?
Just be happy for the players to get a win for two goddamn seconds. Everyone here obviously still wants Huger gone. I'm just glad the guys on their way out won their last game at home.

Not the prettiest win you'll ever see. Not the best way to close out a game. But they beat the second-place team in the league. Ohio came into this game with a ton to play for, and BGSU beat them.

I don't think Huger was going to be let go after the season anyway, so I don't think this game mattered in that regard. But why even follow the team if you can't enjoy a win like this one for at least a few minutes?

Calm down everyone…I think it was a joke. I chuckled anyway.

Because we took 50 shots and they to SEVENTY FIVE.

They took 25 more shots than us and we won.

No wonder I was laughing my ass off when the game ended and saying "I watched it, and I still don't know how we won."

Kula getting 18 points on 10 shots and Plowden getting 18 on 9, plus getting 5 blocks....

Wow.
The field-goal attempt totals are amazing. Ohio attempted 23 3-pointers in the second half, & we took 22 TOTAL shots. Ohio was 16 of 45 from the field in the second half while we were 12 of 22.

Glad I didn’t bet on the game. In fact, this is why I don’t gamble on sports. Every time I think I’ve got a sure bet, it never works out.

I may start betting on BG games if it results in us winning.

As for the game, we obviously were not the best team but we played out of our minds for enough time that we managed to eek out a win. The game reminded me of the BG games of a couple years ago when we were playing a clearly inferior opponent and just never put them away.

By the way, did you hear in the postgame interview that Huger made halftime adjustments and they worked?

That might have been one of the funnest games I have been to since we beat Buffalo when they were ranked. Glad to send the seniors out with a win. The players definitely fed off the energy in the building.

Definitely the most fun I've had in the Stroh in a couple years. We got to be the Couch seat and it was so much fun for my kiddo, he's been looking forward to it for weeks. He couldn't believe how close we were going to be, but he's still baffled when I try to explain to him that we used to get to watch every game that close at Anderson.

Was so nice to see the team actually act like they gave a damn on defense most of the night. The effort on Vander Plas early was pretty pathetic (nobody wanted to close out), but overall they played solid defense and for most of the game OU couldn't score unless it was Sears/Vander Plas.

Gotta say though when Sears got that ball in the air with like :07 left I was really starting to regret my "great win" post that I made when we were up 7 late. We got some help from the refs, some help from OU, and we were able to hit enough free throws down the stretch to close it out. Was real nice to see a win again finally, and they kept their chances of going to Cleveland alive.

Good win...but it's one win. But...it gives them something to build on, so...nice!
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

It's definitely only one game. It took by far our best defensive effort level in quite some time to eke out a win. We also had a lot go our way from the refs. Carter wasn't at all wrong when he dropped that eff bomb on the ref. He was called for traveling and he did get shoved from behind. What very well could have been a foul against BG became 4 free throws plus the ball for us. MASSIVE call that went our way.

Boals was working the refs hard all night about the contact our guys were getting away with defensively. I really think he had a pretty strong case too, there was a lot of swipes at the ball that caught arms/skin that were simple no calls. It went both ways, in my view, but allowing that level of contact definitely worked in our favor last night.

No grand conclusions from me, except to say it was nice to actually have fun and enjoy ourselves at a basketball game again. It's been a LONG season in that building watching a team put forth crap effort and drop game after game. As for the bigger picture I don't think this game (or any other) was going to have an iota of influence on the direction of the program. Huger isn't and wasn't going anywhere no matter what happens this year. BG hasn't fired a basketball coach in my lifetime other than Jans so as long as Huger keeps his hands to himself he's going to be our coach, depressing though that may be. The real question is how many of us will still buy season tickets next year if he is.

I really wish Huger would be gone as well, but I also agree that it probably won't happen. I'll still get my season tickets because it's something fun for my young family to do together. I wish there were more concessions open so you don't stand in line for 15 minutes to get popcorn to feed the overly excited toddler, and I wish they would bring back the 50/50 so I have that thrill of possibly winning money and then the ultimate reality that I just simply won't win. My son loves seeing Freddie and Frieda, eating popcorn, and clapping his hands and cheering when the rest of the crowd gets excited. Next year, when he's almost 3, I'm really excited to see what he does.
