Agree 100% re an audit or at the very, least more accounting transparency....where is this money going?

13 non conference games . . .

I'll put on my AD hat for a second . . .

Teams that the traditional home/away make sense with:
Regionally- Wright State (check), IPFW, Valpo, Bellarmine, Cleveland State, Youngstown State, Oakland (check), Detroit Mercy, Indianapolis U, Murray, Morehead, Western KY, Eastern KY, etc . . .

NY Area/ Huger connection- Iona, Princeton, St Peter's, Long Island-Brooklyn

"Premium" games: Dayton, Cincinnati, Loyola-Chicago, Evansville, Pittsburgh, B1G, Louisville, West Virginia, St. John's, MIAMI-FL,

The possibilities are endless. No one is asking for Duke and North Carolina but this is ridiculous

There's no shortage of Horizon League, Summit League, Ohio Valley and Missouri Valley teams that we SHOULD be playing. Throw in an occasional A-10/Big East, ACC or B1G team and you're in business

I will say, the problem with a lot of these schools is that coming to BG is a no win situation for them. Money isn't an issue for most of those programs, aside from maybe LUC and Evansville, and if they come in and win, it doesn't boost their resume, but if they lose, it hurts them big. Dayton is notorious for not travelling anywhere that could be a natural rival (they have refused Wright State for 20 years now).

Basketball scheduling is really, really hard. Bowling Green is Wright State's highlight home game so far, and they are a tourney team in a 9,000 seat arena. They definitely need to be bringing at least one big time program in with the Frack money every year, but you have to have both schools agree to it.

Some programs I think should be possible due to personal connections to the school and staff: Xavier (Greg Christopher), Penn State (Brandon Watkins), George Mason & Miami-FL (Huger). Moose should have also been able to do a 2-for-1 with San Diego State, but we all know how much his connections were worth.

At the end of the day, I would venture to guess this is Huger's last season and the new coach brought in will come from a big name program and focus on scheduling.

The program is stuck in the mud so of course no one with any name notoriety wants to come to BG. Could be a potential bad loss for someone that's riding the bubble for an at-large. That's what years of lackluster results will get you. Instead you get this mess which is basically done to artificially inflate the record of the team, wind up being invited to the CBI or CIT at the end of the year because you're 18-15 and then claim the season to be successful.

Except we won't get half that many wins. I will be STUNN ED if we get 10 total on the year. Including the 3 D2 schools as "gimmes" if only because our guys will be too embarrassed to lose to them.

Get the hell out of here.

And they're gonna be calling me soon asking for my ticket renewal? Lol
Damn, that is a garbage OOC home sked.

I’m done with season tickets for mens BB. Between the schedule and the gestapo arena management not letting us come and go on the bottom level, even when your seats are in 1st or 2nd row, my knees can’t make the up and down any longer.

Yeah, I don't know either. The home schedule is absolute garbage, not a single game I care to see until conference season. I'm coaching 7U soccer now, and will probably be coaching 8U hoops once the season rolls around. 3 seats in our section are over $500 now...that's a lot of money to not even enjoy the product anymore. Kid wants to go, but I really am not real enthused about renewing.

I’m renewing because I like my seats. I figure we should be good again soon, and I want to keep my seats for that day.

Just an exhibition game but this was just announced by WVU.

📆 Save the date! The WVU men's basketball team will host a charity exhibition game against Bowling Green on Friday, October 28.

Proceeds will benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund at the WVU Cancer Institute.”

I’ll actually be in Morgantown that weekend to attend the football game there for my work, so I’ll try to get to the game and report back.

Hope NIU enjoys that beefed up out of conference road schedule after losing at home to D2 Illinois-Springfield to start the season

Didn't want to start a new thread for this so just figured I'd throw a quick update on former players in here:

- Caleb Fields is starting for Fairfield and dropped 14 points against Wake Forest on opening night. He played very well and is likely going to be their best player.
- Joe Reece is starting for Duquesne and had 12 points and 5 rebounds in 16 minutes in their blowout win over Montana.
- Taylor Mattos has signed to play professional ball in Malta.
- Myron Gordon has signed to play professional ball in North Macedonia.
- Josiah Fulcher is starting for reputable JUCO squad, Clarendon College, and averaging 16ppg through 5 games. Second leading scorer on the team.
- Cam Young is pretty far down on the bench for St. Peter's. He played 6 minutes in their opening win and had 3 points.

Plowden is starting for the G-League's Birmingham Squadron and had 11 points on their opening night, but also had four fouls and missed both free throws. It looks like Justin Turner was released after summer league and hasn't signed anywhere yet. Demajeo Wiggins is playing with a very solid squad in Bulgaria and is doing well there. Richaun Holmes has not been playing well for the Kings this season. He's in the second year of his 4 year, $47million contract.

The athletic department announced today that general admission tickets to ALL home regular season sporting events for the rest of the school year are just $10 until Monday night at 11:59pm. There’s no fees and no code needed, so if you’re planning to get GA tickets to any event the rest of the year, now would be a great time to do it!

I snagged $10 tickets for the Ohio State hockey game next month that would’ve otherwise cost me $22 for the ticket with a $2 fee.

Awesome deal!
