He basically ran himself into the baseline and the defenders easily cut off what would have been a tight angle to begin with.

That's clearly a play the coach would want back. You have to at least get a shot off in that situation. It was clear the tight lane to Spurgin was not open. The inbounder should have called timeout and then they coach could have come up with another play. Instead, he passed it into an impossible situation for Spurgin resulting in the TO without even a shot.

Overall, frustrating loss, but not one that I'm devastated about. I don't think it's crazy to think that Kent State only loses 2 or 3 more games the rest of the season. They have a very talented roster and we kept up with them despite shooting horribly. We were 6-23 from 3PT and doubled their turnovers, but lost by 6 in OT. This was a 25 point loss a year ago. Almost feels like we're playing with house money at this stage.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Totally agree. We were only a 1 point favorite despite all of recent success BG had, and all the recent losses Kent St. had. We got very little from any of the bench players last night. Keep competing at the level they did last night and plenty of wins will happen.

At the end of the game, I said, "Ugh! I can't believe we lost that game! We were so close! But, I guess you have to lose a game sometimes, and at least we were in it all game."

I would have never said that in the past year or two.

I just watched the Ohio at Kent State game. After watching Sullinger rip BG for 30 points in a Kent State win on Tuesday, Ohio played him outstandingly well tonight and completely shut him down as he only had 5 points for the entire game at home in a loss to Ohio. BG simply had no answers for trying to slow him down, let alone stopping him. He got whatever he wanted whenever he wanted vs BG. He got absolutely nothing he tried vs OU all game long. If BG faces Kent State in the MAC Tournament, they must watch the Ohio game tape for how it’s done. It was a clinic!

Ya, each team has different players, and different players and teams matchup differently against each other. In addition, basketball players aren’t robots, therefore they are capable of both good and bad games. Ohio should offer more clinics. It would improve the .500 record they possess. Thankfully, that clinical Ohio strategy couldn’t stop Trey Thomas on January 9th when he scored 20 against Ohio in a dagger of a Bowling Green win. Jeff Boals should watch the Kent St game vs. BGSU for a clinic on how to beat the Falcons.

For the non Ohio fan boys on here. Kent St shot 4-23 from three against Ohio last night. In the 2nd half many of those were wide open looks. Our resident Ohio fan didn’t have any posts regarding the BGSU/Ohio game earlier this season, and seems to never mention how Ohio has done in Bowling Green over the years. Thankfully, he did provide us with a full recap of the Ohio football bowl game.
