Sorry, I forgot to point out some things in my previous post. The response after the Toledo game was awesome. Everyone told us how well we did, and they were glad we were out there!! Thanks to all who help support us!!
I meant to ask a few weeks ago. The man who wrote the article in the BG news said we weren't innovative, but I guess he failed to watch our half time performance with the dance team that we spent time putting together. BG cheerleading has never done this type of thing before and it is certainly new!! Did anyone have any comments about that routine?? Also, just to let everyone know, we are going to nationals in Daytona Beach for the first time ever in BG cheerleading history this coming April. Wish us luck!!

Cheer,
I use to cheer, so here are a few things that we use to do to get crowd support:
Have a game plan. Decide on a jump or something that EVERYONE does after a basket, foul shoot, an and 1...
Use signs!
I heard that Duke passes out a "cheer list" for that days game with the cheers they are to do and when. I think that's a great idea.
Develop "the cheer." We had a cheer that we did for the crowd before every football and basketball game. Mid-football season, everyone was saying the words and cheering US on. I would recommend just doing jumps and tumbling in it...no pyramids. I know they are great, but not doing them for something might get our attention. If you like you can use the one we used it goes:
GO!
Stand up and cheer,
the best you know is here,
were better than before,
to conquer once more,
Rockets, watch out
Cuz' were here to stay,
B-G-S-U, will blow you, away!
That's all I have for right now, I'll try and think of more. Feel free to send me a pm if you need anything.

Okay. I've got one.cheer4BG wrote:we are always open to suggestions from fans, players, coaches, alumni, and anyone else who supports the falcons.
What if you guys could figure out a way to get one side of the stadium to yell: "AY.... ZIGGY...."
At which point, hopefully, the other side of the stadium, with some nuding from you folks, would go: "ZOOMBA!!!!!"
I've always wanted to see that.

I would yell whatever they asked if the cheerleaders were nuding!

Sorry about your luck, but we're not going to do any "nuding" to the fans!!!!!! But I like the ay-zigg idea. If you see us trying anything new, you have to do your part to help by yelling. Otherwise the fans stare at us and it becomes a lost cause. PLEASE!!!!!!
Always there to cheer on the Falcons.......GO BG!!!!
