I'm shaking my head no, because it is a Latin abbreviation. I saw it on Wikipedia under "urban myths about acronyms".

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green High School senior Chauncey Orr has signed scholarship papers to play college basketball for his father at Bowling Green State University beginning in the fall of 2011. He is the son of Louis and Yvette Orr.
