Nice. Parker and McNamara are the 2 guys who have visited recently. Lets hope we have good news this weekend. Would be great to get another guard from Wayne.

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
I'm not as confident in McNamara as you are. He took an official visit to Kent this weekend. His twitter is full of Kent State gear. Kent had filled their scholarships until their most recent commit, Xavier Pinson, decommitted a week after announcing.Globetrotter wrote:Nice. Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
Down to 5-6 guys for the early recruiting period. The earlier the offer the more likely we won't get the guy if he is still out there from my experience.
1. Deshon Parker-PG/SG from Wayne-Where Caldwell is from. Like his game, looks like a great kid and teammate too. Offered 9/26/2017
2. Kiyon Boyd-ACL tear high major recruit, probably not getting. Offered 10/25/2015
3. Mikal Dawson-Some buzz around him and football. Only 2 other offers Offered 7/13/2017
4. Maurice Murray-UTEP offered since we did but we are the only 2. 7/18/2017
5. Drew Peterson-Slew of offers including Kent and Miami. We are the freshest. 8/3/2017
6. Ricky Lindo- He is my favorite of the group. Verbal commits calls him a JR, everything written says he is a 2018 class guy. 12/14/2016
2 guys who started following Huger (and a bunch of other coaches) are intriguing. De-committed from Navy (how do their scholarships work? Their roster has like 23 guys on it so clearly it's not how most rosters work.) Both had multiple offers. Merete looks like he is more athletic of the 2 but both look like they could help a team. Both are going the prep route for a year.

Globe, we've had our differences but have to give credit where it is due. You do a great job in this recruiting thread. That's why I don't understand why you just don't ask Huger yourself all your questions about the upcoming season. It doesn't need to be that formal. I've emailed him several times and he has always taken the time to reply. Once again great work on all this recruiting news.

Appreciate it. It might be my distance from the program and working at OSU but it just seems like an inappropriate thing to do. I think there are channels for it and we'd have more success through those channels.gmartin wrote:Globe, we've had our differences but have to give credit where it is due. Not like OSU is going to sabotage any of the info Huger gives you. Does OSU even have enough players to field a team this year. Last I seem only 8 scholarship players and one of those is transfer Andrew DakichGlobetrotter wrote:Appreciate it. I meant that OSU is a much larger entity and I wouldn't think to ever email the coach. Yeah, Crazy with Dakich. He will see real minutes.gmartin wrote:Not like OSU is going to sabotage any of the info Huger gives you. Does OSU even have enough players to field a team this year. OSU has 11 guys now. One guy who left them that I would love to somehow get would be Derek Funderburk. I watched his highlight video and I was sure he was the next great one at OSU. He was dismissed over the summer and landed at Northwest Florida. He is from Lakewood.

Funderburk played at St. Eds, which is in Lakewood. Don't know if he's FROM Lakewood.Globetrotter wrote:I meant that OSU is a much larger entity and I wouldn't think to ever email the coach. Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
Some guys still available who we have not offered. Just Ohio to start.
1, EJ Williams-Middletown 6-10 300
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ernest-williams" target="_blank
Huge C. Can't find a thing about him that is recent.
2. Caleb McConnell 6-3 155
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/caleb-mcconnell" target="_blank
Have not offered per vc but Kent, OU and Toledo have.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDLJHE6_UG4" target="_blank
Not a fan. Awkward athleticism. Seems to score a bunch though
3. Ross Ryan 6-9 195 Xfer from Centerburg to Pick North
https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ross-ryan" target="_blank
https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5006762/59 ... 1180f68013" target="_blank
13.1 ppg 8rpg 2 blocks.
This guy is intriguing if his height is right. Looks like a fluid if not explosive athlete, Not afraid to put the ball on the floor. Transferring to Pick North where he will go against McNamara every single day. Stats were not great in summer ball but he backed up a MSU guy. I have seen McNamara and wasn't overly impressed. I gave BG the benefit of the doubt because I considered him a possible longer term developmental big. To me this guy is exactly that. From a very small snapshot I would rather have him over McNamara. Let him back up our newfound bigs for a year or two and just eat and grow into a bigger body (if 195 is right) and we might have a great player.
Ryan played AAU with Deshon Parker
4. Yahel Hill, 5-9 to 6-1 PG Cleveland Hts
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/yahel-hill" target="_blank
http://www.neohiospotlight.com/yahel-hill" target="_blank
Looks like a total stud. Unsure why we have not offered.
5. Christian Guess, 6-5, Shaker Heights
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/christian-guess" target="_blank
https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... ighlights/" target="_blank
Offers from Toledo and Kent. Seems like a Plowden-Turner type.
6. Mark Mayle 6-8 195 Malvern
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/mark-mayle" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JSsQd4ZRH8" target="_blank
Not a great athlete but not a liability. Looks like he could grow into a very capable 2nd Big to an athlete. Good shot and runs the floor well and can get up.
Hill would be my top guy on the list. Followed by Ross and Mayle.
