Right. Those two individuals are gone. Incessantly posting about Kit and Bob now sounds like sour grapes about an ex-wife. We're all aware of the damage done. New AD is here so it's time to move on with that talk and worry about the futures of the respective programs. They are all facing their own unique challenges. Time to look forward to what DVDM can possibly do to advance things forward.hammb wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 9:36 am I just want to do whatever it takes to keep as many posters that are still here, to stay here. I love BG basketball and we have almost zero true fan following. I venture to guess there aren't 7500 people on the planet that actually make it a habit to watch/listen/follow all the games. Of those 7500 we have maybe 20 of them gathered here to actually discuss what's going on. If we could ever start winning it would be awesome to have a group here to come laugh it up and talk about it...and it's cathartic to have a small group to also share in the losses, even if it does feel like we are all bitching non-stop.
I do enjoy running through Globe's rundowns, just because I like to hear somebody else's take that is actually paying attention to BG hoops. Even though I think his assessment of our talent level is always WAY more optimistic than mine, hey it's nice to get another perspective
Guest's posts are repetitive and annoying, but also full of truth. I don't know the inner workings of the department. I suspect most of us here don't. I don't even know if Guest does. But I do know Kit was here before and during Moose's tenure and Moose's tenure was nothing but status quo garbage that we've seen at BG athletics for a decade plus. I have zero clue if Kit Hughes was pulling the strings behind the scenes, although it seems like there's likely some truth there. It does get old though. We all KNOW the Hughes/Moose dept. was a disaster, that's why they're both not here any longer. Let's hope the new guy weeds out the rest of the stink and helps us move forward (without Huger!)

This banter is a result of not having much good to talk about. I think Guest’s rants are repetitive but at least he seems to give a hoot. There aren’t many of us left that care at all. My apathy is increasing each year. I just keep holding out hope that Huger is fired and we make a quality hire. It’s looking less and less likely that our university will ever make the commitment needed to be competitive.
I was a donor over the last several years and when I inquired about the vision of the program I was told it’s all about raising good men who graduate. They had zero interest in wins and loses. Thus, I finally quit giving this year.
I know the very few of us left are close to throwing in the towel. We shouldn’t be pushing away anyone who still gives a damn.

That situation was litigated to death on here last year, no need to go down that road again.Buckeye Bullitt 93 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:40 am Wanna feel worse? You do? Ok. Chris Jans has the Mississippi State Bulldogs off to a 7-0 start in his first year down there. lol

Apologies for starting the Kit Hughes topic. I believe guest and take him at his word when he says there are long term problems stemming from all those folks, just not sure why the volume needs to be turned up to 11 in every single post. I get it, I'm sold: Kit=bad. Moose=bad. Can we move forward?

And I'll jump in with jp too. There is no sense discussing Jans either. His coaching chops were never up for debate. Whether you feel his firing was justified or not will never change, and his ability to coach has nothing to do with it; that was obvious after his 1 season here. It's also fairly obvious that there is 0% chance he would still be here regardless, the only question would be whether we had made the dance before he bolted.
No point discussing people that are no longer here. Let's keep our bitching to Huger and company. They're still BG employees and are stealing money at this point. I do find Hammer's post disturbing. The vision for the program is based on turning out good men that graduate? The good men thing should just be a baseline requirement, and if I'm perfectly honest I couldn't care less if the kids graduate. I HOPE they do, for their own sake, but in this transfer portal era where kids come & go keeping them here for 4 years isn't necessarily a given so setting graduation as a goal seems foolish.
I mean, honestly, if your goal is to only bring in kids that will stick long enough to graduate you are SEVERELY limiting your talent pool and thus negatively impacting wins.

Ya know, I think a lot of us just need to vent about those jokers and get it out of our systems.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 9:46 am Apologies for starting the Kit Hughes topic. However, I'd like to know more about the new AD.

I like globes game diaries. The few games I watch I get some insight, I like seeing others analysis on players/,strategies, and when I go to games I'm not analyzing I'm enjoying being at the game with my wife even if we're laughing at how bad we are.
I would also love to hear more from the new AD. We have relatively large basketball budget and a floundering bottom half mac team to put it nicely.
For guest he at least cares even if it's when things are bad. I turned con man Kit Hughes into a drinking game
