Another highly productive 6'9 forward to rotate with Uju & Worrell. Another quick guard who can score. And another athletic wing, which we'll need losing Alcegaire.

Adding these guys to a core that I expect to be Wiggins, Lillard, Worrell, Caldwell, & Turner should be a very good thing.

We're going to struggle with front court depth this season, but adding 2 legit front court guys next year while returning all 3 of this year's front court guys should be a step in the right direction.

I would like to see us look at the 6-2, 6-3 type pure scoring guards, but it seems Huger prefers the smaller types that can pass/distribute as well as score. I'm fine with that as long as those smaller guys actually CAN score at the next level. That can be a tall task (pun not intended) for guys with a height disadvantage at the SG spot.
I'm surprised I don't see Frye on that list. He was the one I liked most of the new guys vids. I have yet to see him play though.
I don't really get into watching prospect vids as I'm not nearly a good enough scout to make any real opinions based on highlight videos, etc. I did see Frye in the exhibition and just wasn't all that impressed. Looks like a meh athlete that weighs about 150# tops. He did make a hustle play or two, and I think he hit a 3 or two, so hopefully he'll be part of that core as well. Just didn't see anything from him in my limited viewing to assume that.

Worth noting I'm highly biased against unathletic white kids that supposedly can shoot. Until I see them shoot on the college level I always have visions of Dusan taking 10 seconds to get his shot off...

Dusan Radivojevic. He was so slow you could spell out his full name before he got his shot off

LOL.

Back to the topic
I love what Huger is doing with recruiting. Big guys and point guards tend to be the hardest to find and thats what he is going after.

Agreed. I said my impression was based on the exhibition only, and he didn't stand out there, IMO.

Seeing him again this weekend he is definitely athletic. Way too frail, but he is athletic.

I think both he & Caldwell have ceilings. Seem pretty raw though.

Very interesting guy who is definitely on our radar. I bet Class of 61 will have some insight. Naz Bohannon. We have apparently offered for both Football and Basketball. He is a 6-4 to 6-6 215. He plays DE on the football field. I was watching highlights from a Club team game for Derek Koch and he was listed. So he has played with one of our recruits already. I would bet that Stacy knows him well from HS days as well. Could end up being a Julius Peppers type 2 sport guy?

He has a football offer from Michigan State.

Bohannon reminds me of Mo Bamba...the 6-11" center from Harlem. Has every basketball power in the country on him but reached out to Michigan because he wanted to check out the Ross school of business.

Recruiting could get interesting. We could have 2 or more scholarships still this offseason as transitions go. I hope that everyone is back but you never know. Hulu seems like the most likely to move on after not really finding much PT here. I honestly hope he is at spring ball for football if he is as advertised in football. Seems like a great guy. Apparently had a Iowa State offer. Fox is a question mark for next year as is Denny. With all 3 we are at 14 scholarships. I think it's more likely that Denny and Hulu are gone and we have 1. If not Naz I go back to Nunu Tervelle Beck. He went the prep school route but John Floyd on here said we liked him. played with Lillard in HS.

I would be a little bit leery of guys like Lillard or Worrell leaving. I like them both a ton but their minutes and roles are not what I expected.

Re: Naz Bohannon,
Biggest (and most impressive IMO) thing i've found on him= 4.0 student who seems most interested in ENGINEERING , which would tend to leave us in a weak postition. But strong suit is in math and science, so we'd have to offer someting in those areas that would interest him. Supposed to be most interested in academics school has to offer, so i hope BG is focusing on that( which they should with all kids). You're right in that BG has offered in Both sports as has Cincy.
But OSU and Mich St. Have offered in football, so we'll see what happens.

Nevermind on Lillard anyway.

And Nevermind on Beck. He is averaging 29ppg and 12 rpg. Kansas and Arizona State will be out to see him this weekend.

It is seeming more and more like there will be some schollies available. With 3 freshman this year and 4 next year I think it would be far better for the team to add a veteran. A couple guys to consider

1. Henry Caruso-Sr Grad Transfer available immediately-Princeton 6-4 205
--Caruso was all ivy league in 2015-2016 but an injured toe kept him out this year. Averaged 15 and 6 and .44 from 3%. He is from Cali.
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... nry-caruso" target="_blank

2. Rashad Muhammad-Rs JR Grad Transfer as well available immediately Miami Fl-6-6 160
--Transfer from SJ State where he filled up the stat sheet for 2 years. Then he went on to Miami where he sat out a year. Then he was suspended at the start of the year before being kicked off the team. A quick call to Larranaga or vice versa could get him a landing spot here. Could be a case of a good kid who needs another chance or a kid who shouldn't get one. Shabazz Muhammads younger bro. His twitter reads like someone not very smart.

2017-2018 1 scholarship available
1 Caldwell, So-Cummings, Fr
2 Frye, So,-Hluchoweckyj, Jr,-Plowden, Fr
3 Lillard, Jr-Turner, Fr-Fox, Sr
4 Worrell, Jr-Uju, Jr-Koch, Fr
5 Wiggins, Jr-Gadson, Fr

There is an updated Roster for next year with the adjusted redshirts. Much better depth, much better balance and size. Might have 1 scholarship available dependent on Fox. Might have more depending on transfers.
