No worries folks, here at BGSU money grows on trees. Our fired AD just got over 135K to go away , Mike Jinks got his 500K, Michael Huger will get 500k. Short term BGSU was obsessed with how it would look to solve the problems in that moment. They played the long game with incompetent leadership. They let the problems leave on own terms until last summer. Now the real clean up begins. Rodney….you’ve got a problem. That 4 year extension in August 2020 looks really really bad.
Not sure Jinks cleared $500K, the Blade reported in late 2018 that Jinks and BG agreed on $375K lump sum. Jinks then landed at USC and now Houston. If you are quick you can see that statement behind the paywall.

Without going back to find it I believe the Ohio audit showed an additional 200k payment made to Jinks the following December after Loeffler’s first season. Regardless, BGSU let the same Assistant AD who was praised by then President Mazey for his involvement in the hiring of Mike Jinks, be involved in the hiring of the next coach. Surprise, that next coach came from Boston College where that Assistant AD was desperate to get back to. The point is BGSU knew who the problems were, they just chose to let those problems leave on their own instead of fixing those problems. The cleaning house of Summer ‘22 should have happened in May ‘19 or sooner. The long game played cost BGSU way more money than the short term bad publicity cleaning house earlier would have.
Reprimanded in 2019…4 year contract extension in Covid August 2020…fired in 2022 soon after Con Man finally gets a job after 6 years of searching. No accountability.
When they discuss the smallest budget in the MAC, just laugh. When they talk about limited funds, just laugh. If they can’t afford to buyout Michael Huger, just laugh. If they have to use Bill Frack’s generous gift to do it, just laugh.
