You know what annoyed me the most. Unless I am mistaken the announcers never once pointed out that Orr was out, or that Crawford was stuck on the bench. They kept pointing out that we werent scoring...well no crap, half our points from the game have dissapeared.

The shot clock turned off, but Izzo flipped out and pointed up to something toward the top corner of the arena before Appling drove. A rogue shot clock on a concession stand, perhaps? On TV in looked like Izzo was really apoligizing to Orr for that last basket. Just seemed he took a lot of time in their handshake.

Also was odd to hear him in the postgame press conference, complimenting BG and the Stroh Center, but then talking about the coaching staff and saying "I was a D2 coach once, I know how hard it is to build your program."

Agree on almost everything. I noticed Appling's reaction to the shot as well and just thought that it was stupid. It also crossed by mind that Sparty may have wanted to push the score to double digits to make it look better for themselves.
Also agree, there are MUCH better ways to avoid a turn over than to rush into the paint when nearly everyone on the court stopped playing in order to get a meaningless basket. We were not trying to foul, no need at all to try to score. Not a big deal as you stated, but still. Our kids didn't deserve that.
But I thought Tom was extremely classy and supportive of our program in his press conference. As far as his D2 comment, coming from a family were nearly everyone is an MSU grad, I am very familiar with him and that program and he didn't meaning anything bad by saying that. He just meant that he knows how hard it is to build a program where there isn't (Or at least not at the moment) a huge interest in the team and with BG being in a smaller conference with little to no national coverage, in that way it is similar to a D2 school.
