A couple of things from the road show, coach Babers is a nice and funny guy. He 's asking for fan support especially for our first 3 home games (fair weather club)
I haven't been to a game since the fat punter CMU game, but I plan to give it another whack!
Privately, this last hoops year could have been a disaster. Again, the theme is let's get out and support the players and new coach. Can we start the new season tomorrow?
I think there will be no more than 3 casualties and that's a whole lot better than 7.
Go Falcons

OK maybe I can answer my own question on this though it still seems vague. I found an article about Minnesota that indicated you can sign players up until August 1 which is probably why I remember a couple of Orr late signings. However, the LOI is only signed during the signing period. The LOI helps both the school and the player but from reading the NCAA guidelines, a player does not have to sign a LOI to obtain a scholarship, thus commitments can be made after the signing periods.fredthefalcon wrote:There's only six more days left in the current signing period. Seems like we got a couple summer recruits under Orr but I can not find where there is an extension in the signing period. Anyone know? Is Fox a possibility for a scholarship as an interim choice?JohnFloyd4Life wrote:I wonder where they are going with those last two scholarships? The rest of the offers we have on VCs are named that were there with Jans, so I'm guessing we aren't really in play with them. If all these guys are back then 1. We might be kind of good next year. 2. I would be surprised if Huger goes after anymore JUCOs.

Letter of intent appears to just be something they volunteer to do but don't have to do.fredthefalcon wrote:OK maybe I can answer my own question on this though it still seems vague. I put you on ignore. You can keep playing your reindeer games if you wish. Not really sure what your problem is. But it's pretty enormous. You and transfer stifle conversation on this board where you claim to support the team.

I heard that our entire team is declaring for the NBA and our new recruits all signed LOI with Toledo. I got this from a reputable site having a lot of sources, namely other reputable sites.Globetrotter wrote:No news. Still sitting on atleast two scholarships. ROLL ALONG!!!

Players can sign NLI's after the official signing period, but they are not binding. Coaches like to have players sign anyway, just to keep them on the hook. As soon as a player registers for summer school he's official.fredthefalcon wrote:OK maybe I can answer my own question on this though it still seems vague. Speaking of Archie... a funny and frank look at racism that you absolutely could not have on network televsion today. Norman Lear was an absolute genius...

Brady Ernst, a kid we were recruiting with Jans who looked good, is still out there. Tore his ACL in playoffs. I wonder how that situation might work. It would be tough to sign him to a 5 year schollie with a bum leg. However, I do think he will end up being pretty good. Wonder if there is a preferred walk-on/grayshirt type role we could do to test him and have him be around the team.
