Without Chauncey, we are missing both our glue guy and one of our most talented players. This on a team w a very short bench/roster. I hope he is able to get back soon.

Go Falcons!

Having your unproven PG take 24 shots in a game is a joke. Letting your PG shoot 6-24 is disrespectful to the fans and other players on the team. Letting your unproven PG flex after making a shot in the midst of a 6-24 performance is an embarrassment.

Probably figured it would be his last chance.

That USF team didn't really play basketball all night long and they still beat us on our home court by 14. If they would have spent the game looking for good shots rather than trying to get the big dunks and fun plays they could've probably beaten us by 25.
But if they did that you wouldn't have been entertained as you stated in the previous post.

Jack Carle tweeted that the other guys on the bench are practice players.

No wonder we are so BAD! We are practicing against guys that aren't even good enough to dress for games. ;)

Do the practice players get to split the unused scholarship 8 ways, or are they just compensated in a sweatsuit and a seat on the bench?

That is unknown, however Carle seemed to indicate that it's very common that they are on the bench. He was surprised that we didn't know that.

I would have liked to have been good enough to get a sweat suit and a sweet seat. I can't imagine them getting any compensation with a limited budget. This would be the best job on campus if it paid if you ask me. 2-3 hours of hoops at the Stroh every night vs. going to Rec. I don't care how bad you think the program is it's still playing against college players and playing against them would be a privilege.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

I guess that would one, take too much time (5 minutes) to add a few names to the roster, and two, it would make it way too easy for someone to log on to bgsufalcons.com and get a complete roster and an answer to a question such as we had tonight. Jeez, give me a damn laptop and 10 minutes with team and I can update the roster and bios for crying out loud.
+1000. We're into the season and the fans and John Wagner don't know/can't find out who the players on the bench wearing BG warmups are? There are no words. :smt076

You know, what. I was pissed when Orr wasn't fired at the end of the season, but with the changeover in ADs, I get it. You're not going to fire a coach before leaving the program, and you certainly didn't want Christopher hiring a new hoops coach before he left. And of course you cannot expect a new AD to come in and clean house when he first gets into the office. It sucks. It created a total throwaway year that will likely affect the quality of team we can put on the court the next year or two as well. It sucks, but I do understand it.

I do NOT understand how the entire athletic department can be completely dropping the ball as if we don't have a men's hoops program. They didn't have a problem charging my Credit Card for my season tickets. Tickets I purchased knowing full well we'd struggle to win many games, but I didn't want to give up my seats. And as much as they can be painful to watch at times, I still do actually enjoy going to the Stroh and watching games....even if the entertainment value is purely humor at how bad we are, I digress...

My real point...what in god's name is the excuse for NOT publishing a media guide? How in the hell are we two-three weeks into the season and still have a bunch of guys on the bench that we know nothing about. We hear rumors that a few of our guys are nursing injuries, but we don't know. We have guys on the bench that are dressed for games that we don't even know their names!? Now I get they're probably walk ons and not likely to appear in a game, but seriously? They cannot even find out the identity of these folks and put them on the roster sheets that are printed before each game? Is it that effing hard to find out name, age/class, height/weight, and where the kids are from?

Seriously, Athletic Department. WAKE THE f**k UP! You still have a Division 1 men's basketball program and for some reason there are still a few of us that actually care about the damned thing. Use the money that we sent you for those tickets and produce a god damned media guide!

And I'm more of a bitcher because usually I just use this site to vent frustrations with fellow fans. But this time it's more than that...this is a complete disaster by the athletic department and for the first time I think it's something that actually warrants sending a message to the department. It's ridiculous.

In some ridiculous way, Lou probably thinks it's a competitive advantage for the opposition to not have any information on our sweatsuit gang. He is the coach, who was unwilling to give injury updated on Luke Kraus, as if the opposition would care. I love how Lou was blaming fatigue on Friday as if it wasn't his choice to sit on a scholarship. Then again, Lou doesn't suspend players from games, just practices, so maybe practice players are more important than scholarship players. TRAINWRECK.

He really said fatigue? Is this real life? Play Mayleben then. Play Josh Jones. Dress another walk-on. Play DeMarkeo Lyshe more than 1 minute. Tell them to slow the ball down on offense more. Clarke and Henderson are bound to get tired shooting 39 times while the rest of the team shoots 25.

Shooting percentages
Clarke and Henderson 25.6
Rest of team 52

And that includes Tisdale who is learning from the master's. He might need an entire season next year to unlearn everything this staff is teaching him.

I know you don't really care about the Women's program, but they don't have a Media Guide posted either. They do, however, have a more detailed Prospectus. Perhaps the fault lies within the whole athletic dept. not just Orr and the like. Maybe they also have guides but only give them to the MEDIA!
