George Mangam is name I think.
I was wondering about this kid, too. But is only having one offer from a D-II school some kind of red flag at this point?

I was wondering about his offers too. He's 6'5", can shoot but scores every way you can. They ran Buchtel out of the gym. He looks the under the radar kind of guy that would have no offers before state tournament and usually ended getting snatched up by Dambrot after he lights it up.

George Mangas. His team plays St. Vincent St. Mary in the state semifinal on Saturday if you want to try to watch him against tough competition. Twitter indicates that he has multiple D-II offers and has gotten interest from several mid-majors but no offers yet. In watching videos I'm not overly impressed. He has a smooth shot and good feet, but is relatively slow and is terrible at defense. His school plays a super fast pace and he kind of swats at the ball for a steal around the three point line and then waits up top for the fast break to score. Definitely inflated stats because of the style of play. I'd say he's a solid D-II player but probably not an impact in D-I without 2-3 years to develop.

This is the right take after looking more into it. Committed to Xavier, coach left. Committed to Cincy, coach left. Committed to Nebraska, coach fired, then transferred to Evansville under a coach that left before he got there. That’s rough luck.
After reading here, shouldn't everybody be excited and hoping his luck follows him here?
I'll be thrilled if he ends up at BG. My biggest question is would he be eligible to play next season or not? Major bummer if he won't be.

Verbal Commits reports BG offering 6'8" PF Scott Blakney a SR transfer from Idaho. Generally was a 3 year starter and second leading scorer at 10+ PPG on a really bad Idaho Vandals team with a 1-21 record.

Weird that he only averaged 3 boards a game.

Agreed. Watching his highlights, he seems pretty aggressive on the offensive end with strong moves to the rim. Usually would translate to more than 3 boards a game. Seems like he didn't play as many minutes this year as in past years so I wonder if he just wasn't a big part of the coach's plans.

BG showing interest in another potential transfer (might be a trend). This time its Radford Fr. Fah'mir Ali who led Radford in scoring with 10.6 PPG as well as 3.8 Assists. He's shorter at 5'10" but solidly built at 180.

Here's a twitter tweet mention.

I'm not all about size for a basketball team, but having two players at 5'10" or under seems tough.

I find it odd that a coach that refused to fill out his roster with a transfer in a yr they were picked to win the league is now trying to use transfers to build an entire roster?

I'm glad to see us looking that way though because next year's squad was looking like it'd be pretty bad and freshmen weren't gonna fix that. Not sure if this plan is great long-term though.

I think with the extra year of eligibility and essentially having a free-pass transfer, this year in particular is going to be important for every school to jump into the transfer portal to find some folks. Schools like Cincinnati and Wake Forest have lost half of their rosters already and it's way too late in the recruiting stages to fill that all in with quality athletes. I'm glad to see the staff trying to be active. Samari Curtis was a great find, and I still BG is an attractive enough program to fill out a very solid roster for next year.

I actually think there are probably loads of would be Freshman available still because no one knew how many openings they had. I don't know for sure though.

Read somewhere a week ago that there were 700 players (and growing) in the transfer portal. You would think it would not be difficult to a fill a roster

You might want to change that depth chart.
