Precisely. To compare what Jans did (clumsily making advances to a woman in a bar with friends while drunk) to rape and life-altering sexual assault is inapt, unfair and trivializes the severity of those crimes.

Show me the police report where he is accused of sexual assault. Show me the conviction on those charges by a jury of his peers. Show me the offender registry he's listed on. He's not Bill Cosby. He made a mistake, paid a price for it by being fired for PR reasons by an incompetent AD and is now a hugely successful coach at another Division I University.

Is it nice to feel superior to the folks in Las Cruces, New Mexico? To consider them amoral heathens content to let a predator loose against the womenfolk, grinning and twirling their moustaches as they hear Greg Gumbel announce the latest seeding for New Mexico State in the NCAA tournament?

Or are they people who extended a welcome and second chance to a person recovering from an addiction to alcohol that wanted nothing more than an honest opportunity to turn his life around, a journey he could have taken right here?

Worth noting that WCU lead the entire first half up until the last few seconds against Wake Forest tonight. Wake is a solid team this season with a bunch of 4-star guys, Western Carolina might be better than people thought.
