Lay off of Floyd

He was one of the biggest reasons we were able to stay in this game today - he played his tail off.

All of you who constantly go off on him had better be able to give him props when he deserves it.

Dude, you know I've got your back most of the time, but I don't see where this was necessary unless provoked. Agreed that Floyd played a hell of a game (from the sounds of things, obviously I wasn't there), but until someone calls him out, I don't think there's any place to call people out for past comments.

Especially when past comments were often warranted for the most part.

I am one of the firsts to bitch about John's play on most nights, but today I will call a spade a spade and say that John played a very controlled game for the vast majority today and was a MAJOR reason why we were in it late in the game. 22 big ones for John today and we didn't get blown out. If you weren't there, it was nice to see him have a solid game. John looked especially comfortable as the off-guard when Steve and Moon were handling the ball and he was able to move without the ball, use screens and take shots within the offense.

So again, big kudos to John today as the Falcons played a very solid and spirited game against a much more talented, but heartless OU team.

Yeah, I suppose I was a little jacked up after the game. Still, I don't think half of the crap that Floyd takes around here is warranted. The kid plays harder than anyone in the conference, and while he may not have a lot of talent, I respect the hell out of that. I guess I was just trying to preempt any "Floyd playing well makes us lose"-type comments. I just think the kid deserves a break.

Sorry if I offended anyone - I really didn't mean to.

I can understand where you're coming from, he deserves his props today.

He did play well. There were some times when he was the only one getting open, and I know people don't like it when he shoots too much, but in that situation, he pretty much has to. Its a shame to lose this one today.

I've been on John for his inconsisdent but today he played well. One side note the guy he guard A. Chatman had a career day today with 19 points. All in all a solid effort by the guards today. We needed to step it up a little earlier. Some very questionable calls didn't help us either.

I think Opie is better suited to play the 2 guard, but that's true with about half of our roster, so he winds up playing the point.

He did really well today though...

While he does play harder than anyone in the conference he also usually plays dumber than anyone in the conference...that's why he gets so much flak.

Today was different. As Option mentioned he played the off guard a LOT today and looked very good taking shots within the flow of the offense. He was making cuts and getting very good looks when he wasn't handling the ball. I think this team is much better offensively if Wright is the primary ball handler. In the past I thought that having Floyd on the floor wouldn't allow that to happen, but today proved otherwise. He was very comfortable allowing Moon & Wright to handle the ball.

I've been among the most vocal of his critics, but I'll certainly give him props today. Hopefully we'll see more of that in the future.

Yes he did. I questioned his play a week or so ago. He played a hell of a game yesterday. Nice job, John!

I will say this much, Floyd played a decent game. He played better than I thought he would or than I have seen him before. He would never see the light of day on the court at OU though. But when you’re faced with your lineup, I guess you gotta play who you gotta play.
