What is the deal with players on the bench sitting down?

Is this a new "point of emphasis?" It seems like that one official kept teling the players on our bench to sit down. WTF is up with that?
It has always been a rule and I can understand why especially in a cramped gymnasium like ours. When a ref is traversing the boundry he has to be aware of where the ball is, where a sometimes angry head coach is, he doesn't need to worry about any other legs to trip over while keeping an eye on the game.orangeandbrown wrote:Is this a new "point of emphasis?"
