.....I hope we've seen the last of the revolving door with players coming and going for awhile. I know every program loses a player here and there, that's part of college basketball, but we've had our share for many years to come. I just hope we can finally start to move forward instead of having to keep rebuilding year after year with all the defections.

I really wish we had a lot of the guys who we've lost, but that's history and there's nothing we can do about it now. But the only way we're ever going to start getting better is by developing the talent we already have and continue to bring good talent in. The last few years we've been running on a treadmill. For ever few guys we bring in, we lose some veterans on the other end. We haven't gotten better because we keep starting back at the beginning. It's like pouring water into a bucket with a hole in it. No matter how many times you keep trying to fill it up, the water leaks out. I'm ready to plug that whole and overflow the bucket! But it all starts now (again) and with this team. I've got no expectations this year, so hopefully they'll surprise us all.

I wouldnt mind losing underclassmen every year if they were going to the NBA like top programs

I think things will settle down. I worry more about making sure we get things in order as we lead up to a convo center project. I don't want things downsized because lack of success on the floor makes the University gun-shy about thinking big.

I was actually thinking about that the other day. If the team comes out and shocks everyone this year and keeps it up for a few years, I am sure the funding will be there for a Convo Center. However, if last year repeats itself, there will definitely be a loss of interest in building a convo center IMO.

That could work both ways, if you think about it. A couple years of poor play, and the argument could be made that "its clear that Anderson Arena is obsolete" and the losing cited as proof.

It doesn't matter if they are playing in Gund Arena or on the outdoor campus courts. If you are going to lose a game, you are going to lose a game no matter where the game is played. When the players are on the floor, they have to tune so much out just to focus on the game which means their playing style shoudln't change to the venue. Gameplay can change depeding on crowd size IMO, but not from the venue. Sure someone might say the rims are different and the ball bounces different off the backboards at some places, but who uses rims or backboards anymore?

I think orangeandbrown was getting more at the recruiting idea and how a new and better venue may help to attract more recruits, or at the very least, not scare some away.

Right. The argument could be made that we can't recruit championship players without a new facility, and the losing would be the proof.
