Yeah, if he give us just one point, we win in regulation. Same thing against Akron in another OT game. Obviously, it's not his fault we lost and he worked hard out there today. But when you're a starter and play than many minutes, you've gotta scratch in the scoring column.

I am assuming that Mawel is the guy that Dakich basically "called out" in his post-game talk with Todd Walker. He said something about how expecting to get efforts out of guys and getting nothing really hurt today.

Seriously, what is the point of calling out players this directly? Say what you want about DI players needing to be able to "take it," there is no reason for this. If this is what you are about, you need to check yoursefl - these kids don't deserve this, and you are out of line. You have never done anything of merit athletically, and you have no right to call these boys out. You are no better than OhioBobcat if this is how you insist upon conducting yourself in a public forum.

Grow a pair, and then call these boys out by name. In the meantime, they are fighting tooth an nail for your Alma Mater - BTFO.

Shameful.

You have never done anything of merit athletically
So, now we have to post our athletic accomplishments before we are critical of anyone? Well, here's mine. At BG's own "March Madness" shooting contest in March '04, I took home the 25-34 age bracket and won myself a large, one topping Papa John's pizza. This kind of clutch performance makes me uniquely qualified to critique just about anyone at any time, and Mawel Soler has got to score some points. I don't care if he is just a "kid", because I would hope he is saying to himself that he needs to play better. Who cares if someone else says it?

Am I not allowed to criticize President Bush because I've never been the leader of the free world?

Cool, Fulch. Maybe I'll pass my future comments through you, since you have your bona fides.

Yo, you're welcomed to borrow my extension ladder when you decide to get off of your high horse. Btw, how's the air up there? A little thin?

I happen to agree with BleedingOrange.

Calling out a specific player (who cannot post here thus cannot defend himself) because of a bad day shows poor form.

When I have a bad day I know it. I don't need to be reminded of it.

That's perfectly fair.

However, the exaggeratedly self-righteous tone of the post was comical. Furthermore, when you look at the post that started the thread, it was a total over-reaction.

All I will say about that comment is this. If you don't like it when people call out a player on this board, then don’t call out people on the board either. Practice what you preach. You’re saying not to do one thing and you turn right around and do it yourself. It goes without saying that when a player has bad games he’s likely to have some thoughts directed his way. It’s what fans care about, talk about and focus on. It also goes without saying that when someone posts something on this board, they will without a doubt have someone disagree with them. It comes with the territory. The bottom line is, you can’t control what everyone else thinks or says. As for saying none of us have ever done anything of merit athletically, I’ll simply laugh that comment off because you have no clue about me or many others on here, and I’ll just have to assume right back that you are the furthest thing from an athlete to even make that kind of statement. But you are free to make whatever comments you want on here.

This is me when I was in college (and 15 lbs over my playing weight). My take off point was back about where number 11 is standing.

None of you can tell me anything about ballin'.... :D

This is me back when I was in college (I was about 15 shades darker then). My takeoff point was about where the ball dropped.

None of you can tell me about ballin'.

Alright, I'll give you credit for that one, even coming from a Toledo fan that was pretty awesome.

Boy. You people can be ridiculous sometimes.

The bottom line is that no one knows better than Mawel himself how much he struggled today. He doesn't need some pricks on a messageboard to tell him that.

If you want to point it out, fine; however, don't call him out by name. That is absolutely classless. If you can't see that, then go ahead and say what you will about me. At least I can be here to defend myself...

OK. What the hell are you talking about?

After all of the heat Floyd and Moon and Ryan and Netter have taken, you're suddenly going to pontificate over someone quoting Soler's stat line? Heh? When were you appointed chief of the post police? Our moderators do their job. Nobody here needs your approval or is asking for it. Get a grip.
