I think Matt is showing a lot of courage for our team.

There are some interesting facts at the bottom of that article. I saw Marschall tossing his jersey aside but never really knew how it got off.
STRIPPED: Ohio freshman Jerome Tillman apparently decided to pull a prank on the Falcon freshman guarding him Saturday, Erik Marschall.
With less than two minutes left in regulation and the Falcons on defense, Tillman cut through the back of the lane and Marschall trailed him. Game film showed that in one motion, Tillman grabbed Marschall's untucked jersey and pulled it over his head. Marschall tossed the jersey to the sideline just as the ball was passed into the post to Tillman.
And how about Martin?!
Martin Samarco is tied for 12th in the nation in 3-pointers with 72.

And if they kept a stat for second half 3 pt. percentage, I bet he'd be at the top. Kid seems to make EVERYTHING down the stretch.Metz wrote:And how about Martin?!

As for the shirt over the head trick, how the hell does that not get called, especially to pull it off a 6-9 or whatever kid? That's alot of shirt to be pulling!!!

I thought it looked like somebody ripped his shirt over his head, but I wasn't sure since I was towards the other side. I don't think I've ever seen that happen...cannot believe it didn't get SOME sort of call...
As for Lefeld I say it at every game. That kid is busting his balls and has no business even being on the court. He realizes that the team needs him and he could be sacrificing long term health for the good of the team. You cannot help but admire the hell outta that kid. Lefeld isn't the most talented player on the team but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone give more heart than him. You can tell when he's out there it's painful for him to even walk, but he still gives it his all...he's long ago earned my respect and admiration as one of my favorite players on the team.
As for Samarco shooting 3's, I'm actually kinda surprised he's not higher than 12th. Still great to see though. Everytime that he makes one I say we should give it to him again because when he makes one he's usually good for 5 in a row. You can just tell that he gets into a zone and starts burying them from anywhere outside the arc. When he's hot he can fill up a stat sheet REAL quick. In Saturday's game, for instance, he went from a quiet 5 or 6 points to having 20 in a matter of about 3:00.
This team isn't real great, but with the gutsy play of kids like Lefeld & Phillips, along with the possibility of points in bunches from Wright & Samarco, I enjoy watching them. If they can get more consistent down the stretch we might surprise a few folks.

They are fighters indeed and seem to step up for the bigger games. Sure we don't always win, but a team like that isn't someone you want to play come tournament time. I still have faith that this season could turn out better than expected.hammb wrote:This team isn't real great, but with the gutsy play of kids like Lefeld & Phillips, along with the possibility of points in bunches from Wright & Samarco, I enjoy watching them. Spot on! 4-7 in conference play but, to my recolection, they have really only been "out of" 2 games (@ WMU and @ Miami). Very fun to watch and/or listen to.hammb wrote:
