In defense of the OhioBobcat
I fully expect to get ripped for this, but I actually enjoy many of the OhioBobcat's posts. A lot of them are really stupid, but some of them are funny. Saying Moon Robinson needs some improbable shot lessons from our women's team made me laugh out loud, and so do the BG fan's responses to this clown. He is like a good villain from a movie. You love to hate the guy, but you know a lot of what he is saying is true. The team is pretty terrible this year, we do have a lot of transfers, and, as far as I know, the attendance does kind of suck.
Banning him would be silly. If you don't like his posts, skip over the threads and posts he makes or just don't let it get to you. The less ammo you give him the better (for you). It's just like sitting next to an obnoxious fan at a game, you can talk smack a little bit, but eventually you just let it go (I need to work on this myself).
Of course, I'd be disappointed if you all just let it go. The back and forth between the die hard BG fans and OhioBobcat is priceless, and getting rid of him would severely hinder my enjoyment of this board. To paraphrase OB, if he were gone, what would you talk about? How bad the team is?
I know it'll be said that I am not a "true fan" or that I am unpatriotic or something, but I know there are others that feel the same way I do. And would you guys continue to respond to him if somewhere deep down you didn't kind of enjoy the banter?

Re: In defense of the OhioBobcat
He was redundant and excessive. If he would've posted 1/8th as much as he had, I'd agree with you. His posting was so excessive, it felt like form of vandalism.fulch wrote:I fully expect to get ripped for this, but I actually enjoy many of the OhioBobcat's posts. rush rush
I personally find Rush Limbaugh pretty annoying (probably redundant and excessive), but I don't write a letter to the FCC asking them to ban him from the airwaves. Instead, I choose not to listen to him...
I could see how this case is slightly different, but I think the principle still applies.

Re: rush rush
You're not forced to wade through Rush Limbough text strewn about when reading the sports page. He cannot willfully insert himself excessively where he's not wanted. That's the key difference. Slobcat got really carried away. He had a priviledge, and he abused it.fulch wrote:I personally find Rush Limbaugh pretty annoying (probably redundant and excessive), but I don't write a letter to the FCC asking them to ban him from the airwaves. You don't read all of his posts...because the bad ones are deleted.

Okay, I admit I went overboard with some of my posts, I’m not doubting that. But there was also a lot of crap thrown my way too that according to the rules of the board, shouldn’t have been used or done on here either. I wasn’t swearing, using parts of the male and female anatomy to describe anyone, or even physically threatening anyone. But ALL of those things were directed my way on numerous times. I’m not complaining about it because I can take it, and I even expected some of that stuff in the first place when I came on here. In fact, I even had you egging me on like when you deleted my posts over and over again last night and then ask me “what was the matter, cat got my tongue?” My post said ROCKETS WIN and I used a smiley face. I was told the smiley faces were the reason the post was removed, then why have them for use in the first place. I’m just saying I admit I was wrong on more than one occasion, but I wasn’t alone on here. If you want to remove me from the board, then I’ll leave. But the message from Fulch isn’t the first I’ve received that enjoyed my posts. You’d be surprise how many people agree with some of them on here. I no doubt can talk some trash, and a lot of people probably think everything I say is trash, but I can usually back everything I say. Talking about OU beating BG, or BG having low attendance, or BG losing close games, or Robinson not being able to shoot, these aren’t things I made up. Whether I say anything about them or not on here, they still happen.Rightupinthere wrote:You don't read all of his posts...because the bad ones are deleted.

As for Ohio today, we lost a close game, just like I say BG does all the time. Sometimes what comes around goes around, and we got it firsthand today ourselves. Everything works itself out in the long run, good or bad.

I wish I could buy your swan song.
But I can't. You invited the treatment - by your own admission. I also deleted posts made by BG fans which went TOO far in attacking you. You didn't read some of those because they went away.
I'm still in discussion with the other mods and admins as to what to do with you. You are capable of reasoned discussion. I've read it. Unfortunately, those times are cancelled out by your frequent amateurish pot shots and jabs.

The issue with OhioBobcat boils down a simple fact: his intent on this board, in his content in frequency, was SOLELY to show disrespect for the other posters. Period.Rightupinthere wrote:I wish I could buy your swan song.

There's no real purpose in having him. I suggest that the moderators make it easy on themselves. It's not worth it.

Then I'll save you all the trouble of figuring out what to do I'm leaving then. I'm not here to make troubles with the world. Like I said, I apologized for my part and take responsibility for my posts, but I never stooped as low as some others have on here. But I’m not going to argue as to why they should stay or whatever. It's your board. And I’m not going to sign up in some other account or whatever, like you wouldn’t be able to tell it’s me. I’m gone then and you all can go back to talking about whatever you do on here without me. This site will probably get pretty quiet and probably won’t be as much fun though. I know some of you will miss me, because I'm the 'Cat you love to hate.

How would this board get quiet without you? Ayziggyzoomba.com always has enough posts to keep me busy not only in the Hoops section but in all the other forums as well and I've just been skipping over your posts lately because they weren't "fun". Enjoy Athens and go find some message boards of your own school.
