Here's another example of how Dakich tries to get attention and manipulate people. He benches his best offensive player, one of the leading scorers in the MAC, only to make himself look better. (In the eyes of those who have been fooled by him) Do you think he would have done this against a lesser team that we had a chance to beat? Don't kid yourself.....he only did it because he knows Akron is 11-0 at home and won all of their games by more than 10 points.

I'm sorry, but Akron was locking down Samarco and when he did get open he was not hitting his shots. (Only 1 of 6 from the field and 0-4 from 3 point range. I completely disagree with the notion that Dakich was doing this to get attention. We were down double digits and DD was probably trying to find someone or anyone that might have a hot hand to keep us in the game. Samarco had a rough night. He is our best offensive player but even the MACs leading scorer can't be on fire every night.

I once saw Dan yank Lenny Matela 30 seconds into a home game against UT and he kept him there for the bulk of the first half because AJ Shellabarger posted him up and scored over him.

If you think Dan picks and chooses in that situation based on the player or the opposition, you haven't been paying very close attention during his time here.

At Indiana coach Davis benched Marco Killingsworth (the best player at the time) with 2 minutes to go in the first half and sat him 13 minutes of the second half. I want to say it was against Michigan State. IU lost the game either way.

But the point is, it doesn't matter if you're the best or worst player on the team. If you're not hustling and doing what you are expected to do out on the court you're not going to play. It's a pretty good message to send and it shows coach Dakich expects the best from his team and wants to win.

Dakich tries to send too many messages, IMO. His messages obviously have not resulted in us winning any more games and certainly have led to more than few players leaving the program. He needs to quit trying to force everyone to do things his way and try to adapt his system to the abilities of the players on this team.

That's his coaching style...if the players don't like it, they shouldn't even sign a letter of intent. If the player really wants to come here and play, they will be successful and turn into one hell of an individual on and off the court.

It's the coaches job to teach basic fundamentals. Or if he isn't willing to do so, then to ensure that the kids he recruits already have a grasp of them.

I completely agree, Akron was all up in Samarco defensively and when he did get open looks, he just didn't knock them down.
