Grab your ankles...

and lube up, it's time for the yearly shaft job.

The "bubble" stuff has started and USA Today is projecting only one MAC team (Akron) in the NCAA.

Nice.

The Missouri Vally is projecting three teams!

Looks like at least 3 20 win teams in the MAC and only one ticket to the dance.

Again.

Edit: OK, 2, 20 win teams. But you know one (or both) is getting the shaft.

It sucks but that's how this year has been. The MVC will have at least 3 teams in the tournament. The problem has been the best teams in the MAC have not fared well against top out of conference teams. I guess we should be used to it by now. The only time I can think of a MAC at-large team was in 99 with Wally World and Miami OH.

By the looks of this BG-Wright St game so far, I only see one team grabbing their ankles right now..............

Understand this right now: There are NO MAC bubble teams. None. In years past, we've had teams on the bubble, but this year we don't. Keep your expectations low and hope for good recruiting.

If both Akron and Kent finish with 20 wins and NEITHER get in it will be a crime.

20 wins isn't the typical "lock" for the tournament...it's all about the RPI rating. Kent has had 8 straight 20 win seasons....doesn't mean jack though. It sucks but that is how it is.

20 wins for Kent and Akron don't mean diddily dook. Neither team is vaguely in the ballpark RPI/Sagarin wise to get a sniff. Akron pissing down their legs out in Nevada last night doesn't help matters, either.

Wow, I could have sworn this would be about the butt pounding we just took from Wright State...

I don't like to critiscize any of our teams play outside of football and baseball cause I know know I can't possibly do any better, but when we lose by almost 20 to a team that lost to the CSU Vikings, I have to start asking what is missing. It was completely obvious that the team didn't show up to play today, not only by the lack of hustle, but the only having 6 points in the first 12 minutes.

Yeah I wasn't able to listen to the game but I saw the score on game tracker when it was 31-11 kind of embarassing especially when you're playing at home. Wright State has a winning record but there is no reason the final score should have been this lop-sided.

Edit: I took out the portion that said maybe certain members of the team have given up on the season after reading the quotes from Dakich.

"It's not from a lack of effort, it's not from a lack of work, it is not from a lack of committment. Everybody seems to be working very hard, we're just not getting it done."

This is the first time in 15 years that I believe that the MAC does not deserve multiple teams in the tourney.

Akron laid a major egg Friday night at Nevada. That Wolfpack team is pretty damn good and they jumped all over the Zips.

Had Akron won that game, it would have helped their cause quite a bit.

I think we should be very happy for our cousins in the MVC- a very similar conference that has been shafted like our own in years past. Good for them and good for the national media for taking notice of the quality of basketball played in "second tier" conferences.
