Interesting Postgame comment...

Last night during the postgame show they were talking about Marschall who has had a good couple games in a row now. Dan commented that Eric was getting better because he was spending time one-on-one with Dan and asking the coach what he wanted him to do and do better.

The interesting part was that Dan continued on that thought saying something along the lines of, "Unfortunately there's some things going on with the team that others cannot be here to get that one-on-one time."

That was a very intriguing comment to me, and I'm really afraid that it's a bad sign. Sure, I know I'm always the pessimist, but I just get this feeling we'll be seeing more transfers this year. Watching this team, a few of them look to have completely given up on the season and their coach. Moten is the one who I really would almost be surprised to see stay next year...he was too highly touted to come in and not be a part of anything. Whether he's deserving or not is another issue, but that's what is likely going through his head.

The followup question is, if we suffer more transfers again this year, will Dan still be around to try and clean up the mess (again)?

Might be an academic issue too, a player or two may need to play catch up and not have the time for extra practice.

I will agree that both Moten and clements fit the profile of our most recent transfers

My first thought was acedemics as well. But who knows. Maybe Dakich locked them in the bathroom or something.

It certainly could be a matter of academics, but it seems in the past Dan has never been shy to say that player X needs to get it together in the classroom. And certainly not every player that could use some extra practice time (almost our entire roster would qualify) can be in academic trouble, could they?

I'm gonna continue to be the conspiracy theorist and think that there is something else going on behind the scenes...

I hear what your saying hammb. The use of the word "team" also makes me think it is not an academics issue. Maybe there are guys that could use the help, but Dakich is trying to run them off so he is not offering the one on one help. :ugh:

I got more of the impression that the PLAYERS are not the ones willing to take the help, rather than DD not being willing to give it...

In other news, Dan Dakich likes to kick puppies.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, because that makes sense. Dakich running players off... because that would reflect so well on him, especially at a crucial time in his career. I think you've got it this time WH... he's picking and choosing who he wants around and running the rest off!

Hey, I don't want it to be true. I just pick up what Dakich says about kids not working hard enough and doing the things they need to do in practice to warrant any playing time. Then this comment from last night. I mean he brought in, what, seven or eight new players this year. Now that he has actually seen them practice and play, he decided he made a mistake on some of them and would rather see them leave. Just an observation.

Actually, he does do this along with all coaches. if a coach does not like a player, he will treat them like crap until they quit and transfer so they can have the scholarship back. I know for a fact that he has done this along with Coach Jim OBrien at OSU. I am stating facts.

Isn't O'Brien unemployed?
