The saddest part about all of this is.........

......our season is currently still going on and we have three more regular season games remaining and then the MAC Tournament ahead of us, and look what we’re dealing with, AGAIN, already. This time of the year is usually one of the most exciting times in college basketball, teams fighting for seeding in upcoming conference tournaments, thinking about the possibility of postseason play, conference player of the year candidates, etc. You look at just about every other board, even in the MAC, and that’s what they are focusing on. At BG, we’re back to talking about player defections for the ninth time in three years. If this isn’t a sign of what’s wrong with our program, then I don’t know what is. And on top of that, this is probably the busiest this basketball board has been all season long. It’s just sad.

Well said BGSU33. The basketball program right now just isn't any fun to follow.

Isn't any fun to follow? You're a freshman...I doubt you know any different. The best thing to do, stay off of these forums and be happy we still have guys that are there wanting to finish their season.

To everyone else...
The season isn't over. We lost a player that disliked the coach. That's a bad influence on the team...especially since it's a senior. Everyone stop complaining (although it seems like it's what 75%+ of you do the best) and support them through the rest of the season. This is male cow doo-doo. There is like 19 threads about how the team is falling apart and Steve leaving. I know, it's so hard to keep it all in one because God forbid, someone might not read your paragraph opinion that changes every 5 minutes.

You all call yourself fans and all you do is complain about every little thing you think you understand. You aren't the coaches, you aren't the players...until everyone is, I don't see why everyone thinks they seem to know what's best for the program.

I don't play favorites. I don't like the way things are going. But I also don't sit here complaining non-stop like I have nothing else to do in my life. Be real fans, show 100% support no matter how bad things are...that's what we are here for. We aren't here to say we can coach the team, give justification on why a coach should be fired or why people leave the team. I hear people say so often they are preaching to the choir about attendance...well if we are the people attending games, we shouldn't be bashing the teams like this. If we truly are the dedicated fans we claim, we should act like it and be supportive no matter what the sitatuion.

If you all disagree, that's fine...Read it, take it in, and move on with your complaining.

Is there anything that Dan Dakich could ever do to make you not want him be the coach here?

The guy graduates his players, has multiple 20 win seasons, and has never been investigated by the NCAA for any reason.

I don't think anyone could have put that any better, and coming from anyone else it might not have the same sting either. BTW, which radio guys were poking fun at my sign Tuesday night, ours or KSU's?

Is there anything that could happen to where you wouldn't complain about something? Sorry to disappoint you, but all of our sports teams can't e perfect and win the National Championships every year.

I never said I wanted him as a coach here. I said I'm still supporting the team and him. I don't slam our teams or coaches because they are BG. If he moves on, I'm fine with that. But I'll supporting him while he's here. I swear you don't actually read anything I say before you make your bullshit replies.

Kent State announcers were crying over your sign. I thought I'd have to get him a tissue. He mentioned the sign four times that I can remember. Did you kick his dog or something too?

I went right to his house and kicked his dog right in the mouth.

It cracks me up when people get on here and try to dictate the moods and thoughts of others. Everyone is going to deal with this differently in some way, shape or form. Some people have been fed up for awhile over this stuff, some people are just now fed up, and some aren’t fed up at all – yet. But telling people not to complain over something they will or even want to is like trying to tell someone to wear something they don’t want to, to eat something they don’t want to, or do something they don’t want to. It usually doesn’t work, leads to more problems and isn’t very productive. If people want to bitch, they’re going to bitch. If people want to praise, they’re going to praise. I for one actually find it interesting to hear what everyone has to say, good or bad, without being told how it should sound. Like I said in another post, whether the tone is good or bad, at least it shows people care and that is always a good thing in my book. So instead of preaching what people should say and post about, why not just skip over the stuff all together instead of bitching about people bitching. That’s about as useless as trying to make a point about it in the first place.

What's really sad is that we'll probably have about 50 more "woe is us" threads before the MAC Tournament.

So much bitching, so little time and bandwith

He graduates his players? That is hard to say when only 4 of 16 recruits stick it out for four/five years. I understand that those that finish their eligiblity at BG do so with a degree in hand. But there is far too few young men reaching that point.

Two 20 win seasons in nine years is nothing to lead your resume with.

I am glad that we have not had any NCAA investigations, but that should be a given. Not something you pat yourself on the back for.

I'm dealing with it by telling you all to deal with it a different way. You deal with it your way, I dealt with it mine. Like I said, if you disagree with what I have to say, that's fine. Read it and move on like you told me. Sorry but I feel this site needs more dictation. A little bit of it now and then doesn't hurt anyone and actually makes a lot of people come to their senses sometimes. Everyone sees something bad happen and jumps all over it. Take a step back, breathe, and realize it's not the end of the world. Things in the programs will get dealt with without any of your consent of the matter.

We can tell...you tend to start threads over and over about the same stuff to get new opinions. Now that you got mine, don't complain.

You bitching about me bitching about bitching just adds to it. You could have read over my post and not complained, but no, you felt the need to add to it. It's a circle that may never end...

Dude, relax, and don’t take everything so personal. I wasn’t singling "you" out, hence, the reason I didn’t quote anyone on their post. I was speaking in general and it actually cracks me up that you flew off the hook with a three-part reply to me. But thanks for writing. It’s like you said, it’s not the end of the world, so take a breath. Believe it or not, I don’t have all day to read through every single post on here to see what has already been written, so you’ll have to excuse me looking for “new opinions” from time to time. And if bitching adds to more threads, so be it, I’m the one saying I’m for it if it’s what is on someone’s mind. But hearing it coming from someone that wants to see more dictation on here is like the pot calling the kettle black.

I heard about 3 references to your sign by the kent guys. At least one was something about "can counting", the other was "who kent read now, the guy is holding his sign upside down". Gave me a good laugh all the hoopla they created about it.
