This season has been a season of opposites for our basketball teams, a guys team struggling to win games, and a girls team beating up on everybody. But where does this leave us in terms of the MAC conference as a whole? With all the negativity that has gripped this board of late, some of it my personal doing, I think we need some good news. Take a look at this. These are the combined conference records (through Wednesday) of every MAC schools men's and women's basketball teams.

MAC Basketball 2005-06 Combined Standings:
1.Kent State, 23-6
2.Bowling Green 19-10
3.Western Michigan 18-11
4.Northern Illinois 16-13
5.Miami 15-13
6.Eastern Michigan 15-14
7.Akron 13-15
8.Ohio 14-16
9.Ball State 13-16
10.Toledo 11-18
11.Fuffalo 10-19
12.Central Michigan 7-22

Wow. 2nd place, that's pretty good. Now that I see this, there's no need to be so negative about things. Gee, just think if our men can put up a few more wins here before the end we could come close to catching Kent for the top spot.

why statistics mean nothing...

why not combine the baseball team... the football team and the basketball team to see who has the best mens programs???

It's so crazy I just might do that too come April and May once baseball really hits the meat of the schedule. Besides, what are you saying? That the numbers don't matter?

I am saying that you are taking an undefeated womens team and putting it with a mediocre mens basketball team and one has nothing to do with the other...

you want a better statistical analysis of men's and women's programs look at a ten year snap shot... not just one year. This is why I love pounding on liberal tree hugging idiots about the earth is heating up... it really isn't because we haven't had a large enough statistical sample to look at, and two if anything since 1900 the largest changes in average temperature have been 1/10 of a degree or in some cases there are cities where it is colder then it was 100 years ago.

Sample size is very important.

Hey, give this kid a break. He's just a freshman.
