for making it a chore to attend and painful to sit through an entire BG basketbball game. Tonight's game was another in a long line of this season. Go out and get trounced in the first half with an abysmal offense. Make a comeback effort in the 2nd half, then fall short and still lose by double digits.

I don't know if he can turn it around, I hope he can because it's far easier than going out and finding a better coach, but at this point I'm not sure how anyone can be optimistic. This team has been barely watchable for most of the past 4 years, and it's starting to get old.

I really hope that next year is a vast improvement, because this season has just been painful.

BTW, what the hell was up with no senior night speeches?

I feel your pain - all the season ticket holders that sit around me feel your pain. Thank God this season is finally over at home - I couldn't take another home loss.

It's been a rough year all around to be a Falcon fan. Football and Hockey were huge disappointments, and the basketball team has been even more of a train wreck than I anticipated.

Thank God I'm so into the women's team.

I don't see how this season panned out was that big of a surprise to anyone. Most came on here at the beginning of the season with detailed posts saying how horrible we would be. Everyone's prediction came true.

I thought we might improve or be given a glimpse of hope for years to come. I did not think at the beginning of the season that I could possibly feel worse about the direction of the program. I was horribly wrong.

I also have season tickets for the women's team - that's been the one bright spot in winter sports here this year.

I was going to make the trek down from my rural fifedom to check things out tonight, but I came down with the flu. I watched the game on BCSN instead.....I think seeing that godawfully dull game in person would have made me at least twice as sick.....

I think Erik Marschall could be a very good forward if they let him work from the wing. He's got the same kind of outside/inside game that made Almanson so effective his last couple of years here. I can't decide if Guerin is really quick and active or just a spaz. We need to find that out for next year.

This team badly needs a legitmate low post threat at both ends of the floor (if Lefeld were only healthy) and it needs guys, particularly PG's that can attack the basket and force the defense to react and move. It's too damn hard to get an open shot when you just whip the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds and then try to shoot over the guys who have been standing there watching you play keep away...hell at least mix things up a bit and play some monkey in the middle.

As I recall, most people thought we would start slow and get better as we matured. As it turned out, we played worse over the past ten games than we did early on.

We showed signs of getting better in early January and somehow we got worse all through February. Something is terribly wrong. The 04-05 team had a dropoff at the end of the year too. Not this bad but were not the same team heading into the tourney.

I think it might be because our guys get worn out. I'm pretty sure we are the only team that has 3 hour practices this late in the season. It's fine when you are just getting started - but this far into the MAC, with 2 and 3 games a week - you don't need to be wearing yourself out and getting hurt at practice. John Floyd really looked tired tonight - and made some dumb mistakes that caused turnovers. I think they are exhausted. The past few years that have gotten worse the further we have gotten into the MAC.

As others have said this season is absolutely a disappointment. Yes, we knew we would suck overall, but we expected a young team that would grow as the season went on. What we've gotten is an old team (not playing the young guys), and getting worse as the season goes on.

I don't think pretty much everyone expected somewhere between 8-12 wins this year. Not too many expected us to have a player quit mid-season, be completely out of home court contention before March yet we still only play one of your freshmen serious minutes, and continue to watch our upper classmen get worse and worse each game. I'm sorry, but this team has taken what was knowingly going to be a rough year and turned it into a major disappointment.

We were predicted last and finished last in our league...big deal. Toledo was predicted first and finishe a game over .500. That's a disappointment. Do I want BG to be last? No. Did everyone think they were going to be last? Yes. No shock Hammb. Hockey team? Yes . Disappointment. They were not predicted close to last.

Actually the hockey team was predicted close to last, and many of the BG faithful didn't believe that prediction, but that's another story...

First of all, I think there is a problem when we're predicted to be among the worst in the league for like 4 years in a row, but that's besides the point. The point is that this team was a disappointment to me, and I'm sure many others, who didn't even have real high expectations for this season. Yes, many of us expected the team to finish the year at or near the bottom of the league. However, the way the season unfolded (not necessarily the won/loss results) have been pretty disappointing.

I definitely remember that most on here thought there would, at the very least, be growth from the talented freshmen as the season went on. Unfortunately our freshmen class ended up having 2 kids quit before the season began, and one ruled inelgible. Of the 3 that stuck we saw significant PT for only one player, and no dramatic improvement from any of them. So yeah, I do think they managed to put together a disappointing season even when expectations were almost nil...congrats that's actually pretty hard to do.

im sorry, i have defended dakich pretty much all year. I just cant anymore. the only thing he did well last night is play moten and clements significant amounts of time. i think clements can really be a good player for us the next few years. Guerin is a quick son of a gun and can flat out shoot. I don't really know what Moten gives to us because i havent really seen him play. I hope this team gets better next year. John Floyd went back to being the worst D-1 basketball player last night. i think he had like 4 points and 8 turnovers. When we were down one and he was on the breakaway, then got it stolen, i knew we werent gonna win that. From that play on it was all Miami. I think Dakich needs to be canned and i think we should make a run at Gary Waters. Hey, hes the arcitect behind the Kent State Elite 8 teams a few years back. He would fit in nice in BG i think. I think that we have talent, i just think taht the players have given up on the coach, and so have i. I think Marschall could win the MAC poty before he is done in BG, Moon can be a very good PG is he works on his offense. We would have a post presence is if Lefeld didnt have rocks as feet and samarco, well, we all know what he can do. I hope we can get that 6-9 260 pound guy from GA....that would be super
