EMBARASSING!!!

Today was simply embarrassing, just flat out embarrassing! To lose by nearly 40 points to another MAC opponent is just flat out unacceptable. This has turned into a nightmare season and is probably even worse than many of us feared or even could have imagined it to be. I hate to even think of saying this, but I really can’t wait for this season to just be over already, and after today’s performances, there’s no doubt I’m not alone. It’s like I said before, just when you can’t think things can get any worse, they do. Only one more loss until we can close the book on this dreadful and disappointing season. The fact of the matter is, we can’t even make a case for our glass being half empty or half full, let’s face the facts - it’s bone dry.

Yes this was! DD says Monday is the most important game of the year? Well I'm not sure about that but they better finish with a better effort than today.

I think our most important game of the year is the next one we play with next season's team, not this one. Let’s face the facts, this team is done and going nowhere. Even if we someway somehow win another game, we aren’t winning the MAC Tournament. Hell, we’ve never done it before, we sure as hell aren’t going to do it this season. The most important thing for our program is to end this season, see who comes back next year (I’ve gotta say it, look at the last four years), add our newcomers and make some much needed changes. That later part is open for much interpretation.

Important for Toledo maybe.

Sadly, that is probably the truth.

Recruiting. I’m at a loss on recruiting. Nervous even. Recruiting will be a particularly difficult endeavor this Spring. Beyond free tuition and the hope of early playing time, things are a tough sell right now.

NIU is in the process of beating WMU, so there's a three way tie for the 5-7 positions, with WMU, UT and OU all at 10-8. Not sure what that does to a tiebreaker.

We need so much help and everywhere, I don't even think many of us know what to even suggest we start with. We're just a mess.

Our recruiting pitch from now on should be, "Can you play, and will you stay." That works for me.

On paper, we have 1 scholarship to give. We have Sims, Larson, Miller, and Sullivan coming in, and we graduate only Soler.

Quite honestly I can't see how any kid who adequately investigates his options could choose BG. Reallistically they have about a one in four chance of being there four years later. Does anyone think it will get better? I don't.

Cute, I'm laughing out loud. I don't think we have but one scholarship left, so recuiting isn't too important for next year.

Give credit to Ohio for shooting lights out tonight. 60%+ from the field, 50% from 3 pt land.
But, it was very embarrassing to hear the score of this game.
Ohiobobcat will have a field day with this one.
I don't see us staying within 20 pts of UT Monday night.
Just get it over with....

I have been a long supporter of Dan Dakich and what he has done at Bowling Green. I really like the guy and think he is a very good basketball coach. But I think I am at the point that a change needs to be made and would be good for Coach Dakich and good for Bowling Green. A couple weeks ago I was of the opinion that he deserved a couple of more years to see if things turned around, but I have changed my mind. This program is going nowhere but down and is becoming the laughing stock of the MAC. I hope Mr. Krebs stays at Bowling Green and I hope his next big move is replacing the men's basketball coach. He has made some other great hires since he has been here and hopefully this will be another.
I appreciate what Coach Dakich has done at BG and I wish him all the best, but it is his time to pursue other opportunities.

98 BG Grad,
I totally agree with you. I could not have said it any better. I have always supported Coach D but it has come to the point where something needs to be done.
