Third Verbal
According to the Sentinel, we have added Nick Wilson, 6-5, from Trenton NJ to our verbals. They also confirm the other two found here.
Wilson visited last weekend.
He is a G/F, 192 lbs, who is strong on D and can drive or shoot, accordingly to himself. He was 14.3 and 3.0 rpg last year, and was all-league for a 21-6 team. He also visited Tenessee-Martin, and coaches saw him play in KS, FL and Las Vegas this summer. He has passed the SAT.
Sounds interesting. Hopefully, another player who will hold up the MAC trophy someday.

Good reviews!!!!
These reviews are very positive. So far, this is shaping up to be perhaps DD best recruiting class.
You know something I don't.....what's so bad about The Hun School? If he's getting sniffs from the Ivy League, how bad could it be?

I've always wondered...
I've always wondered about how often the players and coaches come to this site, and if they do, how seriously they take what they read. Actually, I'm really curious. DD and Brent Klassen have referred directly to the site, and Cory Ryan was aware of some of the negative feedback about him. I'd imagine that lately, if they come out here at all, they either become angry or just roll their eyes, given that there is much going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. I'd imagine that they think something like, "..well, whatever, I have a life to live and a lot to accomplish." Either way, if you're tough enough to play for DD, you're not ever going to be THAT bothered by anonymous posts on message boards.
On that topic, we've talked much about the players that have left and their reasons. What we don't have any reports on are the commitment levels of the guys that are still there. What's the difference in thinking between the guys who leave and the guys who stay? What do guys like Almanson, Lefeld, Reimold and Montgomery think about the actions of Lewis, Hobson, and Harwell. Maybe (probably?) there is a large chasm. Perhaps the level of buy-in and commitment of the guys on the roster is higher than our recent turnover rates lead us to suspect. This kind of stuff is important, but doesn't make the papers.

...and another thing...
DD has received 3 very nice verbals early from Marshall, Holland, and Wilson. Now, I know one thing for sure: the players themselves play a very, very important part in the recruiting process. When a recruit visits a campus, he spends a lot of time with players. They players often sell the progam and win recruits. If the players are unhappy, disgruntled, or disrespect the coach, those feelings can be appearant to the recruit. In this sense, our verbals reflect well on the state of DD's program.

You're right bleedorange, because there are some numbnuts out there who have no idea as to what they're talking about but just bash the team and the coaching staff. They'll claim it's their right as fans to say whatever they want.
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.
Good luck to Coach D and the team.
Go Falcons!

I'm sure that Dan tells his guys the same thing. However, I know that a rather long winded post where I questioned Netter's heart & leadership last season made it to the player, directly from Dan himself. He printed it off and gave it to Kevin to try and get him fired up.able1 wrote:I can't speak for the bb team, but in the past, the football players have been told to avoid boards including this one. Of course, if I was one of them, that would just make me more curious and more likely to check it out.
I watched that game with Kevin's gf and she was pissed about some poster on that stupid website, I told her it was me. Kevin had a great game that night, and she told me maybe I should do something to piss him off more often. Of course I immediately came onto the site and gave Kevin some props for showing up and playing well, and then he went back to his old self
Either way, suffice to say that the coaching staff, at the very least, monitors this website and if something is said they might just bring it to the players. I know that Cowboy posted on here a few times last season, and I'm sure he still knows a few of the players.
