#7 seed UT is all over #2 seed NIU after one half, the Rockets lead by 16 at the break, 39-23.

I wouldn't be surprised if their late season run saved Joplin's job.

From the information I've heard, and it's just that, information, no confirmation, but Jopper's already been told his contract won't be renewed and this is his last year.

Today's Toledo Blade says otherwise...

Toledo wins 78-77. NIU was down 3 with 9seconds left. According to gametracker the last basket was a tipin, probably a missed 3. Looked like it was an exiting finish since UT was up 76-69 with 24seconds left

First "upset" of the tournament, and probably not the last.

i think it's an upset in terms of seeding only. ut has for the past few weeks, and maybe for the first time in recent memory, been playing to the team's ability.

Yeah, that was my point and why I used quotation marks.

Other games of note, Akron beat WMU. The Broncos gave them a game for awhile before fading.

Ohio does it again, OU spanked Miami tonight, 73-58. Miami may have beaten the Bobcats twice in the regular season, but Ohio knocked out Miami again when it counted most – in the MAC Tournament. Until someone knocks Ohio out of this thing, they are the defending MAC Tournament Champs and the ones to beat in my mind. They and are starting to resemble the team that most everyone picked to win it and they without a doubt have the talent to do it. They are probably the team no one wants to play right now.

That sets up a hell of a semi final game between OU and Kent St. I think whoever wins that war wins the whole thing. Alot of people around the MAC seem to be jumping on the Akron bandwagon but they just dont impress me. They do not have what it takes to win the MAC tournament. They don't have that "it" factor u need to win in March.

That Ohio-Kent State game tomorrow is gonna be awesome. Akron should have their way with Toledo, but the Bobcats and Flashes are going to put on a show.

Quarter Finals are on T.V. tomorrow
