Why not pluck a new AD from a tourney team

Thre are several teams in the tournament that have been there several years in a row etc. etc. from small citys. Why not make that a priority, get an AD from one of these schools, than a new coach.
My biggest fear is that Dakich won't be replaced now because we have to replace our AD.
Why dont we just follow the Creighton, Gonzaga whoever model for basketball and go from there.?
The Missourri Valley Conference is doing well.

I like the formula we used to get Krebs. Find a guy at a larger institution that can bring some perspective to the job. That's what Paul brought to the table. The fact he was an alum was just an added bonus.

Well, first, the Creighton/Gonzaga/MVC model is not to play football and make basketball your #1 sport. Probably not a very popular idea.
Why can't we follow the Kent model? Or is there a model?
Dan Dakich is coaching the basketball team next season...AD has no effect on that.

Assuming we can still find enough players willing to suit up for the man I'm quite positive you are right. We won't buy him out.
The plus side is we'll have a long time to conduct a coaching search for our next guy. Once we get a new AD in and acclimated he can begin putting out feelers for the job and hopefully be ready to introduce the new coach shortly after next season.

Kent has a football team?

I'm sure Dakich's biggest fear is that he will be replaced once we replace our AD.
I don't follow the basketball program very closely, but I see zero chance Dakich will be replaced before the end of next season.
Krebs will rightly leave that situation for the next AD to deal with.
Dakich may need a Joplinesque MAC tournament run next year to save his skin.
I have a soft spot for Dakich, but that's the cold hard reality as I see it.

Well whoever gets the job has got some work to do (Coaching/facility issues in hoops and hockey).
