Coach says attitudes are great as the team tries to use weight lifting to improve its rebounding to improve on the abysmal rebounding. He feels experience and "more bodies" will improve the turnover situation. Fouls were due to inexperience and a lack of discipline.
The article notes that at the end of the season, we were without five scholarship players we had counted on (Holland, Sullivan, Wilson, Wright and Dusan).
The article says that Clements, Moten, Dusan and Marschall are all "expected to return," which would be a great relief to a transfer weary program. The only other note on that front is that there is no mention of Patrick Phillips in the article.
Coach says Dusan has already gained 15 pounds. He's also looking forward to adding transfer Nate Miller (yes, an inbound transfer), along with two new reccruits.
He wants Marschall at 240, and he's around 215 right now.
Finally, the quote:
"Dakich is entering the final year of his contract, but doesn't plan to change his approach.
'I'm going to work like a manic (sic) like we always have to make sure at this time next year we're in a better spot," he said at the end of the season. "I'm here and I'm going to work like crazy.'"

I've heard Dan use the "maniac" line before on the radio. It's almost as if he knows this team wasn't/isn't very good, but that he's trying to convince everyone else it wasn't his fault.
Good to hear that "everyone is expected back." Hopefully there's a point guard and a center out there somewhere, but at this point, athletes work well too.
I'm not sure how adding 15 pounds will help a slow Dusan and Marschall at 240 could be a long stretch.

I can personally testify to the team being involved in some serious lifting as I watched Lefeld, Samarco, Marschall, Moten, Clements and Dusan push a large sled with a couple of trainers on it around the entire perimeter of the stadium Friday. The leader in terms of holler and push when I was watching- John Floyd.
The boys had worked up a very serious sweat by the time they came down the home stretch to the lifting area. Go get'em fellas!
