Public Scrimmage Announced!
Men's Basketball to Hold Free Public Scrimmage On October 13
First official day of practice for 2006-07 season
Oct. 6, 2006
Bowling Green, Ohio - The BGSU men's basketball team will hold a free public scrimmage at 9 p.m., Friday, October 13 in Anderson Arena. Friday is the first official day of practice for basketball programs across the country.
"Our kids have worked really hard in the offseason and we are ready for practice to start," said BGSU coach Dan Dakich.
BGSU returns three starters from a year ago including All-MAC performer Martin Samarco and Academic All-American candidate Matt Lefeld. BGSU also boasts one of the top recruiting classes in the league to compliment its seven returnees.
For the first time since Bowling Green State University joined the MAC in 1953, the Falcons will have six Division I home games during the non-conference portion of their schedule.
BGSU will host an exhibition against Capital on November 8. The Falcons will open the regular season at home November 11 against Denison. BGSU begins a home-and-home series at Arkansas State on November 16 and returns home to face Furman on November 19. BGSU will host Sun Belt Champion and NCAA Tournament South Alabama on November 25 and face another Sun Belt foe at home, Troy, on December 2. Arkansas State will come to Anderson Arena on December 4 and the Falcons take on Central Arkansas on December 9.
Following a break for finals, BGSU visits Wright State on December 16, hosts Northern Colorado on December 19 and plays at Marshall on December 22. BGSU will end the non-conference portion of the schedule with three games at the Wisconsin-Green Bay Tournament.
The Falcons will begin conference play on January 7 when they host Buffalo.
Season tickets are available online or by calling 877-BGSUTicket.

As hard as the last few years have been in men's basketball, I always get excited for BG hoops (and football too). It's just a hunch, but I really think we're going to have a good season this year and I can't wait to see the returners play and how they've improved, and to see the newcomers.
GO BG!!!

Yep, being in AA for the volleyball game last night got me itching from some hoops too!
I don't have any feel for the upcoming season, but you know, I don't really care all that much.
I just want to get in to Anderson and get my BGSU Basketball fix!

I thought "public scrimmage" ment they'd be playing random people off the street. I want to post up Dusan!
This team could be very fun to watch. I'd like to see us push it a bit more and siince we still seem a little thin down low but fairly deep on the wings.
well...we're deep on the wings if those guys reps mean anything

If it was at 7, I'd be there, 9 though... probably not going to stick around in BG that long this evening. Never know though... I might. I do want to see these kids play and hear some sneakers squeaking in Anderson Arena....hammb wrote:You going to the scrimmage Grant?
I might make my way over for it. Depends how early I get up to start cooking ribs tomorrow
