Exhibition Game Tonight
I was just wondering who was all going to go to the game tonight to check out our Falcons. I am planning on being there as long as I get everything I am supposed to get done at work. I am looking forward to watching the team play against someone other than themselves even it is Capital.
I'm going! Look for the guy in the #97 football jersey (sorry it's the only BG gear I have out here right now!).

I'll be there!!! WAY more excited for this than I should be... but I've purposefully kept myself away up to this point, so I've got a basketball jones!

The game is being broadcast on WBGU tonight as well, I don't think it's on the radio network. If any wants to tune in outside of BG....get the webcast at www.bgrso.org

Up 8 at the half after a guy banks in a half court short for Capital. Much better than when I turned the game on and we were down 20-11. It sounds like Hamblet could be a real player. I think they said that Clements has 13 or 14 points also.commonsense wrote:3 minutes to go in the half and we are only down 1, i think we will have a good shot to win if we can keep it within 8 points with 5 minutes to go........

From the Capital Web site
Men's Basketball Starts Strong Then Falls to Bowling Green
Bowling Green 95, Capital 74

We tried kicking the snot out of them... apparently that's illegal.BleedOrange wrote:Okay, what the h3ll is going on? We shot be kicking the snot out of this team.
Looks like, from Tricky's Capital report, we handled our business over the last 25-ish minutes. Firsthand reports should be interesting.

Opening Statement
"We played this game against Capital for a reason because they're an experienced group that got good at the end of last season and had some local kids between Fanning, Stahl and Kyser and we knew it wasn't going to be a track meet. They don't shoot quick shots, they handle the ball, they pass to each other and we thought this would be the perfect team to play that would expose our weaknesses. Those weaknesses being number one, when we think we're tired we guard nobody, two, the fact that we have a real hard time keeping the basketball in front of us and three getting on the defensive glass and I thought those were all exposed tonight and it was just what we needed."
"I wasn't rooting for us to lose, but when it got back to 14 I thought it would be a pretty good lesson if it got closer than that. I thought we quit playing when we got up 26. At 26, we stopped guarding and we got up because we were making everything and if we weren't it would have probably been a different story."
On Capital being up 11 in the first half
"In the timeouts I wasn't even getting mad. I just said listen guys keep playing the defense and I told my coaches we'll be up at the half if we stay with the defense and we did get up at the half as we had 19 deflections. Then they got it back because in the second half we had only two deflectionswith six minutes to go."

Capital has a nice team. Those kids executed their offense really well! They should have a great season!
Plus, I've always loved the purple/black combo on unis. *shrug*
