This has nothing to do with him not being eligible...it has to do with how long we have him here. I know he is listed as a sophomore but can he gain that year of eligibilty back? If not he will only really be playing 3 years of college basketball, that doesnt seem fair.

2006 2nd Semester BGSU-transfer rules
2006 1st Semester BGSU-transfer rules
2007 2nd Semester BGSU-playing as a sophomore
2007-08 season Junior BGSU
2008-09 season Senior BGSU

If he were to have played all season at UNCW, then transferred and sat out an entire season, then that would've counted as a red shirt year.

However, since he transferred mid season and is playing now, midseason, I don't think he gets a redshirt year. You get 5 years to play 4. Unfortunately for him, each of those half seasons counts as a year, I think.

Not positive, but I'm pretty sure we have him for 2 more seasons, and that's it.
