Hope he gets another one tonight against gangsta' ball.

DAKICH HAS SECOND BEST WINNING PERCENTAGE AT BGSU, NOW 10TH ALL-TIME IN WINS BY A MAC COACH
BGSU Coach Dan Dakich is in his 10th season with the Falcons and was the second fastest men's basketball coach in school history to win 100 games. He is 154-132 (54.1) overall (second-best in BGSU history) and is 88-82 (52.2) in the MAC. With the win against Jacksonville State, he surpassed Western Michigan's Bob Donewald to move into 10th place in overall victories by a MAC coach. He ranks 12th all-time in MAC history in league wins. His four 18+win seasons are tied for second most by a Falcon coach as he notched those in his first eight seasons after BGSU had posted just four 18+win seasons in the previous 14 seasons prior to his arrival. Since the 2001 season, BGSU is 32-3 when allowing 60 points or less, including 4-0 this season. With the defensive stop on the last play of the game against Buffalo, BGSU is now 29-5 since the 2001-02 season when holding a one possession lead in the final minute of a game.

maybe you can point out which Rocket players are gangsta's? no? maybe you can point out which member of the team has run afoul of the law?

maybe you can tell me how Sullivan is doing these days? LOL

If Toledo plays gangsta ball, I guess I'll take it over whatever style Dan has the Falcons using these days.

If the guy above (TJ) had more than a UT education, he would understand that "gangsta ball" refers to the style of play, rather than individuals on the team.
:-D

Do you suppose these UT fans will show up on our board after todays (Sunday) game? I doubt it!

Like to see how Joplin would recruit in a town of 25,000 people and facilities like we have. Amazing there were 6,100 people at last nights' game when there are 600,000 in greater Toledo, heh Factman?

Me too. We play the most boring ass style of basketball since they invented the shot clock.

Talking smack about UT or anybody else for that matter....

WHAM!!!!!

When the time comes where we are kicking Toledo's ass consistently in football and basketball, we can talk smack. In the meantime, we need to just shut the hell up. It's idiotic and lame.

Precisely. Right now, it is clear where (at least) the men's basketball and football programs stand.

All I said was that we were hoping to get a win against the gangsta' ball. Everyone is sticking up for Toledo? It's a fact...I never said they didn't have talent. Keith Triplett had talent--need I say more? He also beat up his woman landlord and flipped off our crowd while playing on our home court. If you can't recruit at Toledo then you should be fired. Try to recruit here at BG. No one ever has. It's about teaching and discipline at BG and making sure your players get better over their years on the team.

If you're telling me that the best we can hope to recruit at BG is to get to the mediocrity we've enjoyed in Dan's tenure then I'm in favor of cutting the basketball program.

It was a long time ago, but Harold Anderson had a pretty good amount of success here. I refuse to believe that we must accept 15-18 win seasons as "successful".

How many Harold Andersons are there out there? Anyone?

Your direct quote was "no one ever has." That's a little strong.

Point well taken...however Dakich has the same facilities as when Harold Anderson was here. Facilities were top of the line back then. Now, they are the worst. Wonder how Harold would fair today?

I'm so tired of reading excuse after excuse in all 3 men's forums this year, I could kick my cat.

Most of them, except the whole blaming the officials deal, are probably pretty valid, too. I'm just really tired of them.

1) In reality, BG's recruiting has been at least as good as Toledo's over the past 30 years. Probably better. Beyond the fact that they can draw larger crowds, I see no reason to expect recruiting at Toledo to be easier than recruiting at BG.

2) My WHAM! was directed at UT smack in general, not so much your post in particular.

Toledo's facilities aren't better than ours?
