* I can't let up on these guys at all. If I'm not a raving maniac this is the performance we get.

Aside from another bushel basket of fouls leading to a 3-to-1 disparity in free throws, I'm pretty proud of the effort the men gave tonight at Akron (following the live stats, at least). It could have gotten really ugly when Akron jumped out by 16 early on in the second half, but BG fought back, cut down on the turnovers for an extended stretch and made it a new ballgame.

Another big night from Miller, and Hamblet was hot from 3 again... some signs of promise for the future in an otherwise heartbreaking loss.

This team really isnt bad. Their just missing a solid point guard. They play the hardest of any team in the MAC, but they're so under talented. They're also the best coached team in the MAC, but we just can't keep up with the overall talent. Give DD a good team and he's as good as any coach on the D1 court. He just can't recruit/keep anybody worthwhile. It's so frustrating!! I see another Jimmy Larranaga in the mix for BG. I've come to the conclusion that were jinxed!! But what will break it??? Where did it start???

One heart to be broken is mine....because you WILL NOT find a more passionate coach or a coach that cares more about his team than DD. We will hire some stiff to stand along the sidelines and bend over every 30 seconds while the MAC officials screw his team up the a**!! There's 8 coaches in the MAC already whom do that, and that's why we will NEVER see a change. If the coaches don't complain, why should the A.D.'s???? The MAC as a whole is a joke and I'm REALLY tired of complaining because it does no good what so ever..........

I just wanted to reconfirm my point that the MAC is a HUGE JOKE and as a BGSU graduate, at this point with everything happening football and b-ball wise, I'm embarrassed to be part of it!

BG actually played with a lot heart for most of the game. It was a great crowd, over 5,000. UA got up 61-44 and I thought "Here we go...here comes the hammer". But the Falcons kept coming back and tied the score at 75 with about 5 min left. It was 80-80 and Dials hits a trey. Zips shot FIFTY FOUR FT's and only made 32. As good as Akron is, if they shoot like that in the tourney, they'll be one and done.

I was proud of BG's effort tonight. It would have been easy to pack it in down 17 but they played hard. Akron is just a much better team.

Post game comments by Steve "Choch Nugget" French on the Zips radio network were idiotic saying the Zips were never in danger of losing. Ummm, no. That game was very much in doubt until a min or so left. He has this nasal voice that is irritating beyond belief. I don't know who's worse...French or Bill Needle on the Kent network. Also, BG killed themselves with stupid turnovers trying to get the ball in bounds after UA baskets a few times.

Romeo Travis was getting away with shoving BG defenders with the forearm all night. Samarco was whistled at least 2-3 times for doing the same thing. Guess Travis was being honored on Sr night.

All in all a very entertaining game in a charged atmosphere. I hope AD Christopher was in the JAR to see the pregame festivities. Now I know it helps when a team is winning but the Zips athletic department deserves kudos for the atmosphere.

Now, if they would just turn the heat down in that damn place....must it be 96 degrees in the JAR at all times????????

When AU played at UT the Akron fans were whining that Travis got called for a couple offensive fouls. IMO he could have fouled out in the first quarter-he dips the shoulder and pushes off with the forearm on nearly every possession.
