Sun.
The better half is a Miami grad, who loves Myles, so I have her talked into making the scenic drive up I-75 to BG for the big game on Sunday.
I'm wondering what kind of reception do y'all think DD will get? Ideally, he would get a nice one before the game and a nice one after the BG victory. I also hope he would get a nice one even if BG loses.
I'll stand up and cheer for him before the game and after the game.
Yes I am assuming this will be the last game he will coach in AA as the head man for BG.
Go BG!

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like it could be awkward after the game when he is doing the Senior Day thing. It will feel like someone should take the mic and give him a sendoff as well.
But all in all, I think fans will be very respectful and show their appreciation for all that Dan has tried to do for the program.

The main reason I am going is to show my appreciation for DD's efforts as our coach for the past decade. I hope he gets a warm welcome and great send-off after the game. He is a heckuva guy and pretty good coach, but it just hasn't worked out in recent years. I wish him and his family the best of luck. Hopefully the guys can get him a win in his last home game.

I was at Miami's Senior Day this past Sat. They did their brief ceremony before the game. I thought maybe that was a bad idea since it would get the players all choked up three minutes before tip, but MU ran Buffalo ran out of the gym and Nathan Peavy set a career high for points.Warthog wrote:I was wondering the same thing. Regardless, I hope there is a good crowd to send these seniors (and their coach) out with a bang.

You can bet on a good crowd as there will be probably be a couple of hundred folks there from Ottawa to see the Pollitz boys.RobbyFalcon wrote:Regardless, I hope there is a good crowd to send these seniors (and their coach) out with a bang.

I will be attending this game on Sunday, any deals on tickets in town? I am coming with some kids so discounted tickets would be appreciated. I think a standing ovation for Dakich is warranted after the game. Even though he has caught a ton of crap about his performance over the last few years, he deserves a proper send off.

DD will probably get a good reception from the fans, that is, if anybody shows up at all. With the students on break, its up to the locals. A crowd of over 1k is probably good considering the circumstances.RobbyFalcon wrote:The better half is a Miami grad, who loves Myles, so I have her talked into making the scenic drive up I-75 to BG for the big game on Sunday.

Well the bars won't be nearly as crowded.

I kinda paid my respects to DD last Sat night at Akron. I'll be watching on FSN since the game is on TV.
Maybe I'll run into Coach D at the MAC Tourney.
I echo what everyone else has said. If Coach is gone after the season, I wish him and his family nothing but the best and I will miss him greatly. He's been an outstanding representative for BGSU and did so much for people in need.
