Hamblet
Wow... he's tearing up of late!!
From today's Sentinel-Tribune:
Hamblet has had 69 points and 20 assists in the last three games.
“It felt like the bucket was the ocean,” Hamblet said about his shooting performance against Miami. He was 8-of-12 from the field, including 6-of-9 on 3-pointers, and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Agreed.Flipper wrote:Don't count out Moten...I think he breaks out next year
I get the distinct impression that Moten is not comfortable in this system. He really looks like a guy who could give you 15 ppg if he got comfortable with the system. My favorite part is that he shot almost 47% from the field this year. Good enough for 3rd on the team, and the best of any of our guards.

J4H thanks for remembering me. Certainly, Hamblet's last three games have been impressive. However, I will not base a decision over who is a better player based on the last three games, especially at the end of a season when a team is playing for nothing. I will make my last statement about this subject in the public forum, if you want to talk further about it p.m. me. As I have said before. Hamblett is a shoot first point guard, who is not a good decision maker. The team this season was a worse conference team this year than last year with Floyd at the point, with Samarco getting 20ppg, adding Miller and a somewhat improved Marschall.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:I wonder if Commonsense still thinks he's no better than John Floyd.
Hamblet's had the potential all season to shine, and hopefully he's beginning to realize it. Between him, Miller, and OP, there's a nice core there for next year.
So to answer your question, no I don't think he is any better than Floyd, (except for rebounding, which at the pg spot I dont know how big of a benefit that is giving you.) If he was better than Floyd, and Samarco leads the league in scoring, Miller gives you about 14 and 8, you have a better Marschall than last year, and a deeper bench- How does a team get worse in conference than the year before?
Anyway, this thread is about the nice string of games Hamblet has put together. He has played great. For the team to be good next year, he has to keep a 9-12ppg avg while taking less shots, with an assist/turnover ratio of 2/1. With a hard summer of skill work and the weight room, I think this is possible for him to do.

Hamblet wil be MAC POY next year...book it now...line up those Arby's coupons because if he's not, I'll eat some Arby's (that's worse than a bug).
We could have a muderous fast break with OP cleaning the defensive glass and triggering Hamblet, Miller and Moten in transition. Teach him how to throw that Daryl Dawkins baseball outlet and AA will be packed to the rafters. The noise will drive the roaches right out of there.

This is the guy Otis should emulate

You never saw Wes Unseld shoot from outside the key. As a result, he shot close to 60% from the field most years. He was actually the best outlet passer I ever saw...but it looked cooler when Dawkins would palm the ball like a grapefruit and zip the baseball pass to Henry Bibby (and later Mo Cheeks) so McGinnis or Erving could finish with the dunk

After the perm, he didn't look like a goof, but a 70's porn star. Now, if he just had the Ron Jeremy mustache.Flipper wrote:Hmmm...what is Wes doing with his right hand in that photo?
