Wow, if I didn't know better, I could have written this editorial almost exactly the same. I think Mr Carle spells it out pretty well.

I agree with him on the "give him one more year" thing.
I always liked him, and some of the best games in any sport for the years I was there (01-05) were from the men's basketball team.

Grant convinced me -- a one year contract would be a bad thing. Hopefully the AD knows this.
If I were AD, I'd have already made the announcement, and I'd be aggressively searching for the best candidate.

Bingo. It's truly ridiculous that we're letting Dan twist in the wind like this. I hardly think observing 3 women's basketball games occupies an entire week and weekend.
He already gave our embattled hockey coach a strong public vote of confidence and assured the media that he will return. The fact that he hasn't done the same for DD speaks volumes.
End the charade and move forward!

Dan has been here for ten years...a newcomer like Christopher ought to be showing him more respect than that.

That's what happens when a Purdue guy holds the future of an IU guy.

I hope Dakich is given another year. The team was so heavy with freshmen and sophomores and they all have room for big success at BG. I'd like to see him get another year to do with that talent what he planned on doing when recruiting them. The problem is that I'm almost positive Greg Christopher has already made his mind on Dakich's future and is looking for a new head coach.
