NIU coach fired
NIU coach fired
The title pretty much says it. 74-101 at NIU. With our potential situation and Ray Mernagh's opinion at HoopWise that Jim Christian and Keith Dambrot could be getting looks from bigger schools in the offseason, there could be a whole lotta new faces on MAC sidelines next year.
"I don't believe I can name a coach, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, who did it better than Doyt Perry."

I definitely saw this coming. The names being tossed around for the NIU job (Gene Cross at Notre Dame, in particular) are the same ones that will pop up if we have an opening.
I say Christian is gone. He wanted to get out last year and was a finalist for the Dusquene job. Kent has a history of promoting from within, so current associate head coach Josh Oppenheimer will probably move up should Christain depart.
Dambrot has a nice situation at Akron given his ties there, but his ex-St. Vincent-St. Mary's players are now gone and there will probably be a dip next year.
