Option could be the head coach I heard he scored two points in a co-ed intramural game once and he has all the answers. Hambb could be incharge of recruiting and offense. Get bobio to run the defense all his negativity would be used great on the defensive end. Come on guys stick your neck on the line march into the ad's office and make a pitch. Show him those glowing resume's and experience you have. The guys need someone to work them out get in the gym tomorrow and show them your skills. A national championship is in your grasp, you are undefeated as college coaches. The coach k's are among us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummmmmmmmmm, yeah. This should be fun to watch.

As to this thread, whatever dude. I have NEVER claimed to be a coach. I will readily admit that when it comes to basketball I've never even played at the intramural level...as a short, slow, fat, un-athletic guy with no jump shot my skillset didn't really fit into the game. All I do is watch the game and know what I see, and what I've seen for the past 4-5 years is mostly all crap.

I have no idea how to design a good offense in basketball, but I can tell ya what...neither did DD.

Now hold up...I think the 5 man motion offense is awesome! If you look at when he started and the last 4-5 years though, it's not the same. I don't think it's the coach in this one either...it's the players.

The only ones who I saw screening where he wanted, cutting off the screen with their shoulders at the screener's waist, and starting the offense high enough on the court on a consistent basis were Marschall and Lefeld. Recent teams never even got down court quick enough to start it either.

It doesn't matter how many times you practice it right, come game time, players cheat you space wise from what you really want. Before anyone complains and tells me I don't know what I'm talking about, watch game film from his first 2 years and from the last 2, you'll see exactly what I mean.

Okay, so I should change that.

How about he couldn't get his recent groups of players to play his offensive scheme? Personally I'm not a fan of the motion offense in general. I prefer a drive & kick or running through the post if you have the talent to do so.

Even when our offense was good back in the McLeod days we would struggle against zone defenses and settle for way too many long shots at times.

You know, I haven't said much about you people that keep saying this, but I feel the need to comment this time. Some shmuck yelled this same thing to Curt Miller in the restaurant that the team was having their post game meal after winning the MAC Tourney. Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball are two different games and played two different ways. It's like taking Shannon Salsburg, the BGSU softball coach, and saying she could replace Danny Schmitz, the BGSU baseball coach. There two different games and played two different ways!

Perhaps, however, I believe Miller is a good enough coach to span the gap between the games.

But what do I know? I'm just a fan.....as we all are.

I have a better chance to get the men's coaching job than Curt Miller does.

On the list of impossible things that will never happen, this is right near the top. I lose a few brain cells every time someone brings it up.

Has any head coach ever made the transition from women's basketball to men's basketball? Or from men's to women's? Or an assistant? You would think if it was possible it would have happened.

The only one that comes to mind is Dave Magarity who is the head coach of Army's womens basketball team. He took over for Maggie Dixon after she passed away. Dave coached for years in men's basketball although I can't remember at what level; might of been high school but I'm almost sure he coached some college. He was also involved with the MAC in the front office for a short time if I remember correctly.

You are probably the same people who thought that Tressel and Brian Kelly from small Division football programs that couldn't get it done on a bigger level.

The hoop is still 10 feet off of the ground.

2 points = 2 points

Foul Shots = Foul shots...

Shot clock is marginally different.

Xs and Os are very similiar.

The women's game is only played below the rim while the men occassionally go above it.

If the guy can coach... he can coach... shouldn't matter which sex.

The motion we run only works man-to-man in my opinion. Now, whatever they run against the zone I have yet to figure out. Looks like a '3 guys stand around the 3 point line and pass the ball back and forth until the clock gets to 8 seconds and whoever has the ball runs around until they can force up a bad shot' play scheme to me.
