Press Conference Reminder....

Just a reminder that
www.bgsufalcons.com will be streaming the press conference live. I've got the video up now... you can see the occasional head walk past as they try to fine-tune everything.
You do have to log in, but it's free... so if you want to watch, but don't have an account, I'd recommend heading over sooner rather than later so you can get everything set up.

I have it up too.
But the boss just came around and told everyone to go home since it is the day before a holiday weekend. So I probably won't get to watch.

And use Internet Explorer to get there. I'll save ya that hassle right now.

Seeing as I have a Mac, booting into Windows reminds me why I hated using Windows. It's taken me 15 minutes just to get everything set away so I can watch this.

Cornelius Cash, Skip Howard and Nate Thurmond all referenced in the presser, and a nice tip-of-the-hat/dig at Maureen. Not bad!!

So is Stone staying or not? It didn't really seem like Orr had an answer for that question.

I think he had an answer. Sounded to me like "I really just met the guy...can't say as of yet. Give me some time to see how we get along, learn his coaching philosophies, get the players' feedback on it, etc..." Of course, I'm just paraphasing.

Grant, I concur on your paraphrasing. It sounded like a 'let's wait and see' answer.

For those that may have missed it, here's the audio of Orr's segment of the press conference (right click and Save As, if you will):

As for the presser itself? I wonder how long he's had that suit, because I want one!!

Is there anymore questions about whether we're changing our logo?

Even the lapel pins everyone had on were of the peek-a-boo BG/Falconhead logo.

Those pins are handed out to all athletics employees. Hell, I got one for volunteering for the hockey team. That was the first indication we were going with that logo.

Coming back in and editing -
LaMonta and Coach Orr have met and talked. No official decision has been made. LaMonta was at the reception this evening talking with Coach Orr's brothers and seemed to be enjoying himself. So stay tuned...

He said...
"You know I have been a buckeye all my life"........
Also...just as a complete aside....I wonder how tall his son is and if BGHS basketball just got a stud......just a thought.
edit...Just listend to the entire thing. He sounded very good. Kept pointing to family and decisions and the feel of BG. Talked alot about Nate Thurmond. Makred his words and is not eloquent but he does not need to be. He pointed to all of the goals we mention here, a NCAA berth and filling the seats.
I think we need to get a BG mens and womens basketball wall of honor in there with McLeod, Komives, Thurman. This guy with such a wide amount of experience sounds like he could be the guy to do that.
also his first statment was "To god be the Glory." You have to love that.
