The bug has bitten....

Well, I was able to take a break yesterday and spend 15 minutes or so in Anderson Arena watching the guys go 5-on-5. DAMN I want it to be basketball season.
Observations from my few minutes in the gym... Dusan was lighting it up. Polk found Ben Wallace's body in the off season. Nate Miller looks tougher and stronger than ever. The new guys are slashers AND shooters... combo players like we haven't had here in years... YEARS... and I was surprised most by how well Jacobowski handled the ball. Like I told someone else, I couldn't tell if he was right or left-handed.
This is going to be fun...

Coach Orr gave me a lot of hope when I met him on the barnstorming tour earlier this summer. You meet the guy and he exudes confidence. Not arrogance, but confidence. I think that mentality is contagious and our team will make people stand up and take notice this season!

He is an absolutely fantastic human being. Every time I have met him I can't help but think how lucky we are to have him on board!
It sounds like this could be a very, very interesting season, and I can't wait. Has anyone thought about how many questions backed up with potential we have in our fall programs this year? Man, it is a GREAT time to be a Falcon!!!

Nice, can't wait until they lace 'em up. It will be really nice to be able to tune in to the flagship radio all season long.
Big few days for me around Thanksgiving- FRI: BG-Toledo tailgate and game, SAT: Men's Hoops vs. Temple at 2pm, Women's Hoops vs. St. Bonaventure, TUES: Men's hoops at Furman down here in South Kakalaki!
It's just a shame the icers weren't home during that stretch. . .
I'll have to chat up Coach Orr if I see him to get some BG tickets for the Furman game. I think all of my contacts with the program have moved on!

So, did you see Knight or Madlock do anything fabulous during those few minutes?

Nice report, G! I, too, am excited to see the season get going. Like Bleeding Orange stated, I met Coach Orr at the Cleveland Barnstorming tour...the guy is kinda quiet in public but confident. Every time I see him around the Doyt, I make sure to shake his hand and tell him how much I'm looking forward to the season.
It's time for BG Hoops to head back up the MAC ladder. GO HOOPS!

Wow...I can't wait! I saw Otis on campus a couple months ago with a cut-off t-shirt on and I noticed it looked like he put on a ton of muscle. I think Jakubowski is going to be a hell of a point guard. And the best news of that whole report is Dusan lighting it up!!
Honestly...Dusan is not a good player. But he doesn't have to be. He just needs to be a role player who hits shots when our slashers penetrate and dish.

Yeah I met him at the alumni tent before the Temple game. He seems to be just the type of guy we need. I am definitely feeling good about the future of the basketball team.
