MAC outcomes for 11/21

Post by BleedOrange »

Toledo 70
Dayton 76

GTown 57
Ball St. 48

EMU 61
Manhattan 57

WMU 83
Davidson 76

This is a better day for the MAC than it might look. First, WMU knocked off #25 Davidson. Davidson has a very strong schedule this year and just had an impressive appearance v. UNC. Good RPI boost here.

Ball State and EMU: if either of these teams break double digits in wins, they'll exceed expectations. EMU got a win, and the Ball State loss wasn't ugly enough to be an RPI negative. Both of these outcomes are big reliefs for the MAC.

Toledo has been hard to read this year with major turnover at the guard positions, and this game was threatening to get ugly for Toledo.

Kent exploded in the last 6 minutes to pull us close. You never know which team will show up for the Rockets, but we'll be OK for the MAC, especially if we get our two freshmen cleared for action. The big shocker was Ball v Georgetown. So much made about this game and how G-Town would be looking for revenge on the Thompson firing/resignation/running out of town on a rail. BSU plays them close in what had to be a huge surprise. I think they are going to play with a lot of heart this year to put all th ebad stuff behind them and Peyton Stovall seems to be a gamer.

Yeah, UT has been the same way in years past. You'll have a VERY up-and-down pre-conference and then be solid in the MAC. This has a detrimental effect on the conference's RPI.

I have been waiting for Kent to put his foot down and establish himself CONSISTENTLY as the man for Toledo.

I was at the Dayton Toledo game. The Dayton fans were ready to kill Brian Gregory after the end of that game. Dayton was in full control up 16 with 3 min. to go and Dayton decided to go ahead and make it interesting. Toledo was just out maned against UD. With the way they played last night I can't believe ODU beat them that bad. Western over Davidson is a great win and a mediocre Ball St. hanging with G-Town was a shocker.

I doubt the Ball State-Georgetown was as much about revenge for Georgetown players as it was to the Ball State squad. They probably fared a lot better against Georgetown with the new coach than they would have with old used car salesman Ronnie T.

I thought Dakich took a coaching job at Indiana, not Dayton.
