BG leads Furman 37-19 at the half!

Post by BGSU33 »

The Falcons shot 63% while holding Furman to 20% from the floor and and lead by 18 despite not attempting a first-half free throw while Furman went 8-8 from the line. Jakubowski leads the way with 9 points (3-4 from three) and 4 assists, while Polk has 8 points (4-4) and - get this - no fouls in 8 minutes! Miller also has 8 points, Knight and Clements have 4, Hamblet and Larson each have 2. Knight, Hamblet and Clements all have 2 fouls.

Yeah, we're still leading by 20 at least. We seem to have the advantage athleticly for sure and Furman is not the same team as last year as well.

We extended the lead to 21 points (47-26) but Furman is making a run. The went on a 12-2 run to make it 49-38 with 9:00 to go. We have yet to attempt a free throw while Furman is 13-17 from the line. WOW! Come on Falcons, close it out!

Furman has cut it to nine, 55-46, with just under 4:00 to play.

Nice...good to see the team bounce back with a win on the road.

I know he did a good job here and has (rightfully so) a lot of admirrers, but I continue to think that "Paul Krebs" sounds liek something you go to a free clinic to get rid of.

I don't think that Furman team is very good, but it was a nice bounce back effort by the Falcons. Shot out of their minds in the first half, then really cooled off in the second. Another good balanced scoring game. Jakubowski was red hot early, and OP had a real good first half as well.

All in all a good, solid road win.

Furman may not have been that good but the line was BG by only 3 so do the "Vegas math" on how good Furman was or is.
