Question for BG fans

Post by ESS »

I watched the game yesterday, and saw a lot of positive things for your team. I think you need more consistent help for Knight inside and when that happens things will get better.

What is the deal with Moten? He originally signed with WMU and then had grade issues. One thing led to another, and he ended up at BG. This kid was a hell of a player in high school. He struggled under DD and I thought MAYBE it had to do with "the system".

Watching yesterday, it's clear that your guards and wings have more "freedom" now with Orr as the coach.

Is Moten just "not very good"?

He has never shown much in his time here. I also expected big things from him due to his prior publicity, but it just hasn't happened. :?

I would guess it is a work ethic issue, because he is our best shooter and has shown flashes of being a very good scorer...see the tournament we were in last year where he was the MVP.

Moten is the only decent shooter we have on this team, but his other deficiencies keep him on the bench for the most part. That's unfortunate because we have absolutely no outside threats on this team when he's not out there.

When he learns to guard somebody, he'll play.

Moten plays with a complete lack of balls. No aggressiveness at all. It's like he's scared to get hurt or make a mistake. When he arrived, we all had very high hopes. Moten's a junior now, so if he were going to be a player, he'd be one by now. Unfortunately, he just isn't. Next year, if eligible, Calhoun or Thomas could play in front of him.

Yeah, I tend to agree with that as well. There's flashes of brilliance but no consistency.

I agree that Knight needs some inside help. He is the only one is rebounding on both ends. On the defensive end of the floor he is the only player rebounding while the rest of the team is on a fast break without the ball!
