BG wins against Ohio 52-49! Great gut check win by BG. We have some things to work on (Larson and free throw shooting), but the potential is there for a season above what many thought! GO FALCONS!! Now lets get the sweep tonight at the Ice Arena.

Maybe this win will stop any premature threads about us not having a chance in games. Nothing is worse than a self-loathing BG fan. Just settle on the fact that with this team, sometimes we'll be great, sometimes not, and sometimes in between. Put this win in the great category. GO BG!

If they keep this up... Jan. 30 in Muncie is going to be a party for the Indy Alumni Chapter.

Well, let me be the first to say that I did NOT see this coming. What a great victory for our mens b-ball team. I still can't say I'm overly optimistic for the remainder of the season with Hamblet and Marshall gone, but this was a good win for us nevertheless. Hopefully our guys can use this game as a springboard to bigger things later.

Looked like it was pretty ugly- 30% shooting but BG avoided the foul bug that has hurt in the past. OU only had 9 FTs to BG's 22. Keeping Polk on the floor for a little while helped on the boards it appears. Must have been some good defense played both ways.

Those stats being said, I just hope that this wasn't just a case of Ohio stinking up Anderson Arena. Hopefully Orr and his coaching were what pulled BG through. We'll find out soon enough as conference play continues.

WE WANTED IT MORE!!!

We weren't the more talented team, nor were the more athletic team, but we were the team with the bigger heart tonight. Diving for loose balls, tipping rebounds out, taking charges... you could tell they wanted it!

A FUN FUN FUN time in Anderson tonight. Really thought Bubba was going to drill one of his last two opportunities, but I think we'd have even pulled this one out had it gone to overtime. Glad we didn't have to though.

How fun to send that busload of OU fans home with a big fat L!

Loved the all out hustle of the big guy. You just don't see very many 6'9 285lb guys diving on the floor for lose balls and to have the presence of mind to call a TO to retain possession. That was nice to see out of the big guy. Offensively he missed a ton of bunnies but defensively he kept L Williams from going off. How we let Walther get off 2 3pt attempts within 5 secs of each other late in the game that would've tied it I'll never know.

We needed this kind of defensive grind out effort to have a chance , OU maybe being off a little and we did just that. OU has a ton of depth and I feared we would tire out in the end but Orr's multiple rotating of players in and out kept us fresh enough to finish it out. My expectations aren't raised one bit but what we did tonight will just mean the life in the Mac is wild ride where you have to bring it every night and OU didn't today.

It never ceases to AMAZE me how you can change stripes in the same 24 Hr. period....last post was that we would LOSE by 40, (But maybe only 25), and those statements were made as if it were going to be fact. And now THIS? Make up your mind! One thing that seems to be jumping out at me about this team, and, unfortunately, I won't be able to see them in person for quite awhile, is the improved REBOUNDING that seems to be happening in most games. If we can get some improved shooting, this might not be the disaster that you've been preaching. I'm not saying that this team will win a lot, but it's nice to know that there is some fire in the tank of this team. 8)

Change stripes? I don't think so. That was my best prognostication based on the history of the two schools this season. OU has beaten MD and some other really good team and we haven't beaten a team under a 150 RPI, so all I said is what COULD happen if everything goes right for OU , OU plays to their usual potential and if we play like we have vs SIU , Duquesne and others. Sure I knew what happened today was remotely possible , but I wouldn't have put money on it in the slightest. The odds in my mind were for a OU blowout with no students on campus , very little life in AA today , it was just ripe for a blowout loss at home, but it didn't happen and I'm happy for it. Coach Orr did a great job rotating players to keep guys fresh so that we could still play the great D that we had to play late in the game to have a chance. We also got some favorable calls from the refs for the most part as well , which we all know is as rare as a dodo bird.

As I've said before , my expectations for this season hasn't been raised in the slightest but maybe just maybe the I might be pleasantly surprised at the end of the season and I'm all for that.

Well, I had picked this for a loss after the preseason, but I also need BG to be 10-6 in the MAC in my pool LOL

I learned 2 seasons ago to aim high so I don't have to root for BG to LOSE.

This was probably one we stole. I hate the slowdown game. I think Larson was tired of watching OP play from the bench, and dammit Gumby, I'm liking these guys!

Some OU fans on their board were complaining about that line as well. I'm shocked it wasn't higher but maybe they were counting in the AA factor, who knows.
