Four sign...

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

Bowling Green State University men's basketball coach Dan Dakich has announced that four players have signed national letters of intent to attend BGSU and play basketball for the Falcons beginning next season.

Joining the Falcons are Jeremy Holland (6-8, Austin, Ind./Austin HS), Erik Marschall (6-7, New London, Ohio/ New London HS), Lionel Sullivan (6-6, Detroit, Mich./DePorres HS), and Nick Wilson (6-4, Trenton, N.J./Central HS).

Holland is a preseason All-Indiana pick who averaged 19 points and 9.6 rebounds as a junior and 19 points and eight boards as a sophomore. He was an All-Conference pick last season and also canned 99 three-pointers last year.

Dakich on Holland: "Jeremy brings really good size and skill and has the ability to play inside and outside which has always been the forte of the forwards we have had."

Marschall was an All-Ohio pick as a junior when he averaged 18.6 points and 12 rebounds for the Wildcats. He also averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds as a sophomore and is a two-time All-Firelands Conference selection who is coached by his father, Dale. In the last two years, the Wildcats have gone a combined 37-6.

Dakich on Marschall: "Erik has a very good combination of athletic ability and skill and can play a variety of positions. As a coaches son, he has a real understanding of the game.

Sullivan averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds for St. Martin De Porres High School last season, earning first-team All-Michigan honors in Class C and All-Catholic accolades. He helped his team earn a state title in 2003 and a Catholic League title.

Dakich on Sullivan: "Lionel brings a good combination of physical tools and intensity. He is a tenacious rebounder and brings a very workman-like toughness to basketball. He also has a real desire for his team to win."

Wilson earned second-team all-county honors at Trenton Central High School last season, averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists per game and 3.0 steals. His team finished runner-up in the New Jersey State Tournament in 2003.

Dakich on Wilson: "Nick possesses tremendous athletic ability along with a determination and toughness that makes him a very good defensive player."

Whooowwweee!!!!! Pretty solid class so far. Also, it seems like the flake factor is reasonably low.

We have one scholarship yet to give.

I'd like to see us sign another guard. Preferably, one who can play.

No more Sullivan jokes, I promise....
